STOLEN: santa cruz chameleon
March 22, 2009, 09:53:50 pm
Remember that bargain santa cruz chameleon that Bubba pointed out to us a while ago? well, I bought it and Fatdoc fixed it up.
I've just got back from a four day climbing Trip in Wales and some c*nt has nicked it. If anyone happens to see it listed on any of the relevant forums I'd be grateful if you could let me know etc.
Thanks
Paul

Very bad luck, Hope the insurance pays out.

Size, colour and details?

There is a black one in large for sale here http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/fs-santa-cruz-chameleon-pics-now-up

Probably not exactly a bargain though!

Fuck me Paul, your endless run of luck continues :(

That fucking sucks man, I really feel for you. Bikes are personal. It's not like losing a telly.

I doubt you'll see it again tbh, just put the claim in and buy a bigger lock.

Where was it stolen from? Your flat?

Bummer  :(

Sharia law is too good for bike theives, they should loose their feet too so they can't fucking pedal.

The bike lockup for the block, I'd moved it down there very temporarily as I was building a board where it was. I think its only been down there 4 days and had a pretty beefy lock. The security here is utter sh*t it would seem.

Blue, 15"
Judy SL's
Front disc but no calliper...

I'll dig out the spec sheet I had.

Will your contents insurance cover it? If so I'm sure you could up the spec a little - they won't care.

Any idea how they broke the lock? I do worry leaving mine in public with a decent u-lock on.

No there's no sign of the lock around, mine is the only one that has gone missing. Speaking to people in the building it doesn't seem rare, basically they drive in with a van and take everything they want then f*ck off. The annoying thing is there is no CCTV as half of the flats are rented and the people in the rented accommodation won't pay for the security upgrades!

Contents won't cover it I'm fairly sure.

It would seem so Dave... thankfully I'd had a great 4 day trip despite trying to ruin myself in the first hour (losing a huge chunk out of two tips, not just a split, a chunk).

Nightmare. Bad luck (yet again) mate.

At least you're climbing well. Dobbin's theory that you sold your soul for power keeps getting more and more believable!

That sucks mate. I'm in the same situation as you. I live in a flat and have a communal bike lockup. My solution to regular thefts was to keep them all inside. No lock can prevent theft - FACT.

but what if you don't already have a pole-dancing setup in the crib?
