The previous tenant in my flat has cancelled her BT contract for phone and internet and I've started a new contract for just the phone as the missus gets free broadband through Orange.

We phoned Orange up to be told BT has left a "tag" on the line and that we had to phone up BT to get it removed. I duly did this only to be told BT Wholesale needs to remove the tag, they won't speak to me and Orange need to phone them up to get it removed. The missus phoned Orange back to be told they can't do anything until BT have cleared the line and removed the "tag", phoned BT back etc etc etc..

So, who's at fault. I fed up of being passed from one company to the other, none the wiser as to who's at fault.

The Ofcom site seems to think Orange, the new ISP should sort it, but shouldn't BT have removed this tag when the service was cancelled?

I'd no idea these tags even existed before all this.
