Lovely Easter weekend up in Teesdale. 100's of Sand Martins at Brockholes on the way up. Lots of Lapwing, Curlew and Partridge. Chiffchaffs seemingly everywhere, growing numbers of Swallows but a brilliant Snipe up on Middleton Common was the highlight!

Nice wagtail and nuthatch, such tidy looking birds.

And I might go and have a look for those sand martins Sam, I've not managed a picture of those yet.

I was harassed by a Daddy Longleg AKA Crane Fly last week, turbulently scrambling around the walls of my living room  :furious:

I was in Mallorca for a few days cycling last week, but managed to pack my camera too, and had a couple of evenings taking pictures.

I had a red kite sighting a few weekends ago too, over the Long Mynd in Shropshire - first time I'd seen one away from Harewood House and surrounds.

Also (I think), 3 buzzards at Conies Dale, scrapping over food. Didn't get my camera out fast enough though.

They're almost common around Harewood now - I was lucky enough to see one catching prey at Almscliff in the rough ground down from Black Wall/Dreamland. Also seen one as far east as the Yorkshire Wolds, around Bishop Wilton about half an hour east of York.

They frequently make it over to our allotment near the centre of Leeds. They follow the railway lines and Meanwood Valley frequently whilst out hunting.

Red Kites are common as muck in Yorkshire. Can't drive up to Brimham or walk into Yeadon without seeing them. I dread to think what they're doing to the rodent population. There ought to be a cull...

I disturbed two roe deer who were chilling out between the boulders when I arrived at Stoupe Brow this weekend.  ;D

First Swifts of the year by Blackstone Edge on Saturday and visited Mere Sands Wood yesterday for the first time. Nice spot and saw first Arctic Terns of the year as well as Willow Warblers and Whitethroat. Speaking of which, had brilliant views of several Whitethroat at Thurstaston last weekend... Lovely birds!

Good spot on the deer Mike. It's a nice spot that! I was driving around the M60 the other day and saw a deer on what transpires to be the Outwood Trail near Clifton?

Male Stonechat, right next to the path at the car park end of the Burbage North track.  Noisy little bugger.  Hopped around me not 5m awy for quite a while, flitting from stone to stone making a right old racket.  It was as though it was defending a nest, but given the location, I cant imagine it.

Given the uber quality/casual nature of Tims shots, it feels fraudulent just saying you've seen one.  I feel like I should have some pic to post up.  Its like not having vid evidence of a FA.

Saw a Wheatear there last week, right under block 1. Only saw my first on Dartmoor a few weeks back, now i can't believe I've been to Burbage 100+ times previously and not seen one. Also have no photo despite having had my rig with me at the time.

Usually a couple of Wheatear over by the Cowper Stone.

And there was a Hoopoe reported a few days ago in Cheedale, seen lots in Mallorca but never here.

I have to say I was pretty pleased with this picture I got of a Stonechat on Leash Fen a couple of days ago, they do seem quite bold at the moment.

Recent bike rides - road - watched buzzard getting mobbed by crows. MTB - Fetteresso, deer on 4 occasions, although 2 might have been the same deer moving very quickly (ok quite quickly!).

Our garden has been full of cardinals and there's all kinds of birdsong I don't recognise. Really starting to wish I wasn't such an ignoramus about these things.

I trust the feathered kind, not the child molesting kind.

Incredibly, information about birds is available in print or electronic form! ;)

I got a good birding guide to UK and have actually learned quite a bit just by observing
