It's digital trickery i tell you! He photoshopped out the pin it's mounted on.

Amazing as always.

Not so much digital trickery but a royal pain in the ass to get.  It is a heavy crop too, so if you go any bigger the image will quickly fall apart, but I was well happy with the end image, just wish it was less of a crop.

PS cheers for the feedback on the comp photos, some have been shortlisted so I've got my fingers crossed!

Water vole, assume it was the same one repeatedly, or Chee Dale is becoming overrun, by Max's Wall/Two Tier, a first for me.

Not from me, but I would actually quite like to get attacked by a sea eagle.

Quote from: the Beeb
The Very Rev Hunter Farquharson said he arrived home in Abernethy, near Perth, on Friday to see his Toulouse goose Beatrice lying dead on the ground.

Thats a Bonjoy naming opportunity if ever I saw one...

Not usually packing big enough guns for bird photography, but quite chuffed with some recent grouse shots:

Nice Adam. you should see if any whisky brands named after widely well known gamefowl want it for advertising.

Walking off the back of Higgar a couple of weeks back one of these was stood on the path bold as brass. Me looking like a tortoise
on steroids figured it would be off like a shot. Low and behold it stood it's ground forcing me off the path! Never been quite so close,
maybe a foot or two away and didn't appear stressed at all. Then it proceeded to chase me off!

I've had one strut and cluck (?) at me aggressively and peck at my shoes on the way up to Dovestones. Might have had a nest nearby.

Sounds like the same fella I saw. Chances are he has a hormone imbalance which means his urge to defend his territory overrides everything else. 'Rogue' male Capercaillies are more regularly reported than grouse, but its known throughout the family. Hopefully his hormones will settle down before he gets carried away and attacks a car...

Still not seen a Capercaillie, only heard them.

Have made up for it with wild cat spotting instead.

Wow, must have been a quiet few months on the wildlife spotting front!

I went to Martin Mere with the family on Monday and had a great day spotting lots of Whooper Swans, Shelduck, Pintail, Wigeon and Teal. But highlight of the day was three Marsh Harriers. One of which alighted on a gate about 40 yards from the hide we were in allowing excellent views for the kids, who actually were totally engrossed for the first time! Also spotted a Little Grebe and large numbers of Lapwing, which was nice!

Good day out and great venue for the family, loads going on...

That comment from Crouch last time at Ysgo had me in stitches for days for no real reason.

Saw a lone mountain hare up on Bleaklow in its not-too-subtle winter coat, was gone pretty quick though (probably due to the scent of the dog that was with us).

Saw buzzards almost daily up until Christmas when it was cold.

Brolly has been taking great pics as always, just not been showing them off.
