I should be at Cwmcarn by 10am.

So who else will be there?

I can't find my lucky gloves...

The ones I lost just before crashing last time.

Never mind.  I will have to be brave and confront my fears.

What a great day yesterday!

(I do feel rather like I was beaten up by a gang of baseball bat-wielding nihilists though)

Next time I will be on more suitable machinery and hopefully I can follow you faster boys down.  I didn't see any of Space Monkey's airborne antics at all, which I'm sure were fairly impressive...

:agree:

Feel back to normal today - yesterday I was sore despite being the slowest down the hill. I had a great time and despite being newish to this MTB/DH lark really enjoyed it. Thanks to FDs introduction to mountain biking over the past year or so. Need to learn to ride right turning switchbacks properly - left for some reason are fine.

Its just a shame there are no up life services closer to Sheffield - it seems mad there isn't something closer to home. Must be a business case to find a hill.

BTW I had a look at Cwm's website it does say on it they will take up to 40 / day on full day tickets - despite there being only 32 seats on the up-lift.

I asked about that last time. They usually assume there will be no shows and bike/rider failures within the first few runs, which thin out the numbers.

Are any of you boys planning another DH day at any point?

I'd be up for Chicksands one Sunday if anyone fancies it.

Further north will require slightly more planning, but could probably make it. Cwmcarn would be good.

I will endeavour to bring my own doctor this time, just in case I need a more accurate second opinion!

I'd be up for another trip - not sure when I'll be able to make it as my wife is about to drop - so pass outs may take some persuasion.

I'm sure FDs clinical skills can't be that bad mind you he does spend all day in an office these days.

Do I fuck.. i work ALL my sessions

lets face it... I knew Yoss had bust himself at cannock.. , but he would not have got home if we sent him to a&e...

I agree, another trip would be good, esp a cwmcarn session.. I'll rally the troops and advertise on here soon..

No - not your fault at all! I borrowed your gloves cos I'd left mine somewhere, and never figured out where, especially in my mildly concussed state.

The thing that makes Chicksands great is the AMAZING 4x track... It's so clean and smooth and well-groomed. There are a few others around that are ok (Aston Hill, etc) but it beats them hands down.

The dual course is really nice too.  And it's all great in the winter.  Probably grippier than it is now.

But this other place you mention sounds interesting!

chicksands is awesome fun with loads to have a play on. nothing is that long but still puts a big grin on your face.
not been to storrs for a while, it was one track but is still good fun, but nowhere near as much fun as chicksands imo.

someone said that some work had been done, i will have to pop up and see whats been going on. i just find it hard to drive past trail x and not stop and ride there.
went to bringewood on sat for an uplift. thats quite a cool track, even better not having to push up. inners next me thinks, just want to uplift make or break all day.

Its dropped off here after the server crash but September 26th AE uplift day is on!
Myself, Fatdoc, Big G, Dave(?) space monkey. Looking like couple of spaces in vans will be available as two will be going up, last uplift before the winter and at a venue that looks good for all abilities.
