So this poor chap will spend the day repairing FDs bike!! Find yourself a surgeon and then someone can fix you.

There are few i'd trust to change all the bearings on a demo 8, incl me.

I'll gladly pay him... Not a job for a home bodger or shite mechanic, get it wrong, over stress a bearing... Biff! Frame bust...

right, changed the bush on my shock.. still wobbles  :'(

Cant find play in the pivots but I'll get them sorted as and when.

Looks like my shock is poorly... TFTuned it is then... arse.

Bike still ridable for the 26th at Cannock mind...  ;D

We could see the unveiling of FBSFs new take on his Turner... he's put coils into his Lyrics... cool!!

BTW,

wwwdhspain.com

do 4 day breaks, and i know some of the tracks on their site.. as I'm at work I cant see the videos.. but from the pics I know where the accomadation is (basic).. but near some good restaurants no more than 5 mins away.. the transfers will be 40 mins tops and you really can get 12 runs in a day.

looks much more focused and better organised... quite frankly all you need is somewhere warm and dry.. near a good restaurant..

I'm sure fatkid will be up for it... and 4 days will be fine for me...

anyone else?

it's not the alps, but it is such a good way to get your eye in very early on in the year.. it's made a big difference to my riding getting all those uplifts in at that time of year...

Another trip ??

Sounds good.

I'm checking out the biking up near my Dad's place which is between Alicante and Valencia. Apparently its the winter training ground for the Cervelo Test Team ( Road) and I'm told by locals there is  also lots of MTB - both cross country and downhill.

The dhspain video looks good.

I still fancy an alps trip at some point.

Not sure where to put this, but just acquired myself an Orange Hitman frame. Off to pick it up tomorrow...
I could be up for Cannock whenever it is, might end up being on a hardtail though for extra fun.
When is it and how long does it take to drive from Shef?

Sounds good, as long as you don't want to do any riding up hills...
Did some easy trad today and it seemed alright, so hopefully easy/middling trad will be alright.

Also; Has anyone got a 36 or 38T 4-bolt chainring they don't want in exchange for a few quid/couple of pints?

Just to remind youse all that the 26th at cannock is the inauguaral pick nick ( aka session)

For ukb mtbers....

No pressure, bike not important.

I'll try to cam some footage, but basically all welcome for a few hrs pissing about on bikes.

(It's 100 mins from sheff driving legal)

I got big G, perhaps Gellie and Jerry, perhaps norton and perhaps TLR with also fbsf intersted so far.... With bubba also sniffing about... We need to sort vehicles soon

All welcome, anyone else????

I'm still keen.

Any idea what time you'd be thinking of heading down there and coming back?

I will be there, injuries permitting!

I will try and try and bring the chap who, when observed on a computer screen (wearing his body armour and full-face astride his 224) by a kuwaiti oil technician prompted said oil technician to remark, "Who is this Superman with whom you ride?"...

Any chance that there might be room for me to take 2 bikes please? Then I can ride back to Sheffield afterwards on my road bike. Obviously I'll pay petrol for both directions. If not then no worries, I'll try and sort some thing out myself, just need to keep those road miles up.

I don't want to prevent anybody else getting a space in the A-Team van though.

8am is a bit too early to ride down there to meet you at 9.30!

Im in, as long as I dont have to be in a car with a road bike on the back of it....
I will either take Bongo which means I can take 3 people/bikes or white van with 2 people, or neither cos the fatdoc will give me a lift....im sure we can sort it out next week.

I'd be interested. Need to confirm, but about 90% certain.
Is it all rideable on a hardtail as the big bike has been partially dismantled?
I've got a vehicle if required and could probably take 2/3 bikes and people.

Fair drop out rate so far ( as is)

Post your final intentions on weds, I'll try to rationalize the vehicles from sheff on that.

Please remember this is a ukb wide concept, all welcome!

We will have helmet and camcorders for the day, to get some YouTube shite for us all to larf about in weeks to come !!

Count me back out unless I count myself in (space permitting) later in the week.  I have to get fit so will be xc'ing, or more likely still down the 'Dale.  Sorry.

right, I've lost it who's coming.

TLR.. yes

big G... yes

FBSF.. yes

space monkey & ?mate?

Yoss.. yes.. own transport.

Issues: both space M & mate & big G done own cars...

PLAN: if space m & mate want to come FBSF & I will each take our vans, so everyone from sheff goes in 2 vehicles. this means if TLRs roadbike survives 90 mins amongst a nest of DH bike he can ride home... its gonna be a bit snug.

I'll want the bikes at mine either sat night or by 7:30 in the morning, packing the van like this is a dark art, and i need time to do it and not break a bike.
I'll affirm space Ms activites and sort it for sure today / tomorrow
