Sat in the airport coming home from an ace trip waiting to hear from our hire car company after someone hit the side of us an hour after landing in Mallorca.

They signed essentially saying it was their fault but we won't find out what's happening with it for a few days. Damages were c.2500 Euro.

Anyone experienced this before or understand how excess insurance etc works?

Edit - insurance was a separate annual one, not with the hire company.

You will pay the excess to your insurance comp, who will pay the hire car comp. your insurance comp will then approach the other parties for payment. This will be paid to you if you've claimed anything. This can take anything between 3wks and a year. How much your insurance pays out has nothing to do with you, you'll just pay your agreed excess, ie400 euro's. If they've admitted fault and you're not waiting for whiplash etc you'll get 400 back at some point.

Tennis (inside). Its been growly for a while, but I felt something really go yesterday, shooting pains down the forearm, lots of dull ache and tenderness. To top it off the car broke down en route to a family day out. Double arse

Yep. Pulling on a crimp in a roof. Stupidly trying too hard knowing it was dodgy. Deffo inside the elbow.

I did something to mine trying to lower on a square edged volume on a traverse in a bouldering comp. really hurt at the end of the muscle at the bottom of your forearm just before elbow. Have carried on climbing since and it hasn't got any worse.

Fell off the rock-over move at the top of my 7b project in Slovenia, pendulumed under a bulge and smashed my knee. Three stitches later I thought I'd just need a rest day. Now I can't walk and have to fly home five days early to see a knee surgeon

The end of my trip came sooner than expected.
Van totalled after turning over when two cars hit each other and ploughed into me in the south of France. No van, no home now and no Font. Shit end to what was a difficult but amazing seven months.
Gutted.

Boom. Lost count now but that's either 19 or 20 write-offs for one reason or another - non of them my fault. The gods stamped 'hit me' on my head when I was born methinks.

I'm alright tho, sore back low down but the x-rays showed no breaks.

Shit at climbing, great at surviving.
