I occasionally (twice now, counting yesterday) have days where my left elbow gets a bit fucked. It happens after a big day of campusing and steep climbing, and usually manifests itself when doing a big lock move. It doesn't hurt at all, but when I bend my left arm fully the arm is stuck for a little while in the locked position, and it feel hard to gett it out of that locked position. When I am sitting down, and try to lock my arm back, the same thing happens. Then it gets better once I finish the session, and has only reappeared once, yesterday. Anyone else found this? The only other elbow stuff is just occasional sensitivity on my elbows, also after big sessions, but it is never really too bad and if I get it I just do more ring pushups.

...and if I get it I just do more ring pushups.

Is that on each arm separately, maybe extending to a handstand or planche..?  ;)

I propose a new thread about all this.. "Giving it the elbow".

To Lore. Hope things improve soon!

Succumbed to the MTB plague and did a superman over the handlebars on the bank holiday weekend, inverting and landing on my back/neck/head after falling down a 6ft drop.

In behaviour typical of someone that lives on their own and values their independence, I ignored the symptoms for nearly a week before being ground down by the near constant headache.

Finally went to docs on friday morning and then got sent for x-rays, and then a CT scan. I've torn neck muscle and have an "elevated inter-cranial pressure".

That isn't the NNFN; I was totally off my game and didn't realise that the pretty doctor treating me was the same pretty doctor i'd been chatting to via online dating!

Did she give you the "usual back injury test"? (If anyone has had a back injury they will know what I mean!)/

Hmmm...
I'm quite sure it must be anal-related, but the details are blurry. And maybe it's better that they remain such.

Descending a steep rocky footpath yesterday and a big chunk of the path gave way with me on it...sprained wrist, two cracked ribs...bastard!

Does that mean that while you are convalescing and watching the ineptitude of the English batsmen against Mitch Johnson and laughing to yourself that you will experience some pain? That's Schadenfreude that.  ;)

Seriously - get well soon mate.

Thanks Lee. I  not convinced Johnson will he as effective on pitches over there. Watch out for Starc though, he is turning into the real deal.

In the quiet, long before opening, as the torrential rain hammered on the world around; we came into the wall.

Polly waited by the door, as I ferreted in the cupboards out the back hunting the laptop power supply that had been "tidied" away...

I came back empty handed, grumbling, and Polly said "can you hear dripping?"

A quick hunt turned up water oozing from a line of bolt holes.
A rapid grab of the ladder and caving expedition into the false ceiling, lead to the thrilling discovery of a pouring torrent, neatly hidden away behind the wall.

And.

With sinking heart.

Lifting the first of the many thousands of pounds worth of matting below.

We find lake Bloody, Sodding, Victoria MK2 spreading across the entire (wooden, f#*€ing wooden) floor.

Bollocks.

Probably.

You should see my Heath Robinson plumbing job, involving a large plastic tea tray with a sink drain fitted into it and long pipe run from leak site to cafe; where it is now plumbed into the sink drain.

You can do it if you B&Q it!

So, despite the fact that it will take the roofers days at least to fix it, it shouldn't get any worse.

Looks like it's been happening for some time, so we have to wait until it's dried out to assess the damage.

Fortunately, no sign of mould on the underside of the mats, though the wood below has not fared so well.

So looks like a few days of late night mat lifting and mould treatment/drying.

Cheers for the thoughts.

Dehumidifiers etc.. cost alot to run - but if you go to B&Q and get a couple or 5 large floor sitting fans and leave them running each night (with the wet bits/matting propped up) it'll really help speed up the drying..

Yeah, we're lucky though. We fitted ceiling fans before we opened (Bouldering rooms with no air movement suck, but AC costs a fortune x10^x).
Still gets too hot in the summer.

Insurers may well cover dehumidifiers and monster fans. Good luck with that mate.
