I felt the mantel and didn't like it, or the pad situation - thought I would just hop off and reassess and have another go - but I hopped out too far and landed behind the pads - end of session. I'm hobbling around now so I don't think the knee is too badly damaged. I'm already thinking about a rematch.

I remember that mantle falling apart while I was trying climb it, ended up swimming through grains of sand but it's not too bad if you just go for it.

What's the difference between American and dense stretching then?

Americans call the climbing wall "the gym" or "climbing gym" and this has been sneaking more and more for the cool cats over here. I just wanted to highlight that I was actually at a gym, not the wall.

To be fair he is better at stretching than climbing so the question was well grounded.

Possibly one of "those" gyms.

Perhaps he was not wearing pants at all...

Neighbour troubles. He went ape shit, banging on the wall, last night at 8.15 as Mrs Donkey was washing up the baby bottles in the kitchen. Went to spoke to him today in a very non-confrontational, calm and apologetic way and he just hurled abuse at me. Shitty new build houses+bat shit crazy people=Bad times

Asked to attend a meeting on Friday with several of my colleagues who are on the same pay grade with our manager. When we go in to the meeting there are 4 other managers,a guy from HR and colleagues from other teams.
We are informed that we are all at risk but not of redundancy but of organisational change, we can apply for one of 5 jobs at the same grade or one of 3 jobs at a grade lower.
Nice pay back for 27 years service.

Neither of the above sound fun, mine pales into comparison.

After spending xx hours (almost a full day of dry daylight hours) hanging out the bedroom window replacing all the silicon around the window frames (which I thought was the cause of the leak) and having no leaks for about 2 weeks and thinking I had cracked it, after Sunday's rain there's once again a big puddle in the garage. Puts woody construction on hold again. Reaching a point where I need to get a professional to have a look, as I'm stumped where it's getting in now.

Don't underestimate the power of wind to drive water through the tiniest of gaps.. (I'm sure you dont - but here's my anecdote anyway!).

At my former (exposed hilltop) house in Aberystwyth when it was windy (and rainy) water used to be forced by the wind through the joints in the wood on the door (it was like a weeping door!) despite it being painted etc... amazing. I just gave up after various attempts at weather proofing and just stuck a towel under the door when weather was bad :)

Maybe think about some sort of poly sheet > bucket arrangement behind the woody under the leak?
