Got knocked back on 2 applications today for new jobs. Meant to be in mega-saving mode for wedding and little'uns (can't fend the Mrs off much longer), so the money would've been a great help.

Ho-hum.

Week and a half and back still fucked. Fuck IKEA, fuck heavy PAX wardrobes, and fuck having to carry them up our twisted staircase by myself.

Next time don't be so bloody cheap and get it from a shop that delivers. Anyone would think that being in Aberdeen too long is rubbing off on you; if you lose your sense of humour then you might as well start talking doric!

P.S. hope the back heals up. The lass' back has been iffy for months, it's no fun!

They did deliver. I had to get the bloody stuff up stairs and into our room once we'd made space for it though.

If I start saying furry boots, foos yer doos, fit like the loon or similar you may kill me painfully though.

Glorious weather forecast, free from family duties, probably one of the last few chances of the autumn to get out on some actual rock - and your climbing partner cries off at eleven o'clock the evening before. Arse.

You need to find another climbing partner.

This was an attempt to widen my circle of climbing partners. Win some, lose some.

Yep, currently trying to figure out which of my local alpine objectives fit realistically into 11 hours of daylight.

Warming up this arvo and something in my left ring finger popped really loudly and quite painful. :wall:

In the first knuckle, it sounded and felt like my knuckle cracking albeit much louder and more painful.
Doesn't seem to be any swelling but hurting constantly down the left side of the knuckle. Currently icing it but going on the movement I have with it (finger moves fine, just painfully) I don't think (read: I hope its not) its serious. I think it might just be a violent knuckle crack...

Any ideas?

Whenever I've popped/sretched an A2/A3 there has been no pain - whatsoever. Just a gentle numbness that starts about 10-15 min later...

Similar for me. When I did mine I could still hang on it and crimp for a short while. Then swelling and numbness started a bit later.

Watch out what you do for the next day or so. I opened a sugar jar the following day and it "popped" again. This is when my pain really started!

Hope it's nothing serious.

I cut through both the tendons on the back of my left index finger with a Stanley knife at work. My finger didn't work so I drove through Friday rush hour traffic for 6 miles to A and E pissing with blood. I've had an operation to reattach them and am now on hourly physio exercises which are excruciating. I've got to 'work through the pain' apparently. 3 months till better.
Life is a massive balls up sometimes. Oh I'm self employed too.
Anyone done anything similar?

Shit sam, not good! A friend of mine's wife cut some in her knuckle / back of finger smashing up an old toilet to remove it. Had a bit of surgery and got it fixed; took a while but she's fine now, she's not much of a climber though. I'll see if I can get in touch for some advice.

I was pissing about on Als Attic up at apperent North t'other day and thought I would jump from the slots at the end of the traverse for the jug missing out the two holds.........essentially my r.h  fingers were cantilevered under a small roof so as I  dynoed mainly my middle two fingers stayed in exactly the same position and hyper extended at the first joint. Sounded  like the snapping of celery, trip to A&E revealed I had pulled a cone of bone off each finger joint on the end of the ligament attached to the joint.

Shit, both these stories are nightmareish. Puts failing on my current nemesis, yet again, into perspective! Get well soon both of you (hello Lucien!).
