Winter, possibly summer - depends on finances/jobs/what we want to do...

We're heading out soon after the 24th of Nov (my leaving date from work). Still need to sort accom etc., but you're more than welcome to come visit!

Je ne peux pas rester!

Will bear it in mind. I'll most likely end up in Les Gets / PdS but could always head down for a couple of days (and / or you head up?)

I am - November 24th, Chamonix.  :punk:

Part of the reason why I'm jumping on routes midweek that I've been saving for the onsight for a while...time is running out!

This certainly doesn't belong in the NNFN thread........

F^@%!ng Lucky Ba$(@^&  >:( ......grumble, grumble,grumble.... I'm so jealous. Have fun!

NNFN - Huge windstorm Tuesday night (top speeds measured at 130+mph) and power out for 36hrs and counting....

NNFN - First snowfall on the mountains already, way too early.

NNFN - First fully free weekend all summer and it's forecast to rain the whole time. (Goddamn F^@%!ng rainforest)

NNFN - I ran out of coffee this morning.  :furious:

OK - Done ranting and complaining.  Time to look on the brightside, as soon as I find it  ;)

Well after fucking up the flash of Weedkiller Traverse at the Tor and rolling my ankle on sunday, A&E have deemed it to be a full sprained ankle :( So no climbing for the immediate future! Thanks to all that offered me help as I hobbled round the place!

Good news though, my ankle is now a nice shade of blue and I've developed a new kick ass fingerboard regime for train over the next few weeks :)

Putting the bins out the other night, jumped a low wall to avoid a locked gate, rolled ankle, #5th right metatarsal.
Can't work for 6 weeks, no climbing, running, biking.....
perhaps this is the opportunity to achieve life imperatives such as being able to lock off on one arm, getting really good on shit pockets, and reading ulysses.  :coffee:

PM me with that shit  ;)

Oh dear!  Still, a good opportunity to loose the "weakest person to have climbed 8b" title.  Seriously, every time I've done something to a leg (PCL, medial head of gastrocs. and good old sprained ankle in the last 3 years) I've come back stronger.

It is almost worth starting a new thread for the cnuttery of hire car companies but Europcnuts want to charge us €217 for an f'ing puncture.  This includes €50 damage administration fee.  They just make this up don't they?  Anyone ever anywhere managed to fight this kind of thing successfully?

I also managed to loose my LX3 on the same holiday, which will cost another £300 or so to replace.  A very expensive trip with very little achieved.

Or to quote buster gonad - oooh me plums. I managed to pop up so badly once once when surfing that the board shot sideways out the water and whacked me in the jewels. Even N Sea cold wasn't enough for the pain.

Not as bad as some on here, but still ruined a good day.

After putting it off for a while I decided to go and look at Loose Control in the Kinder Downfall today. Hiked up there with a pad and a few ropes, only to find it absolutely soaking and glowing radioactive green. Naive to think it was going to be dry maybe, but still very annoying, cleaned the slime off a bit, ill be back. if anyone fancies a go at this this winter (optimistic) then pm me.

I've had loads of rolled ankles over the years, even had one x-rayed once it was so bad. Have come to the conclusion they you can pretty much walk them off. Get weight on it as soon as you can, and then go for a couple of miles' hobble, repeat the following day, hey presto, usable ankle. I am not a doctor.

Yeah just be careful that it isn't actually broken (especially after the walk in clinic tell you it's not) and start trying to weight it when it actually requires major reconstructive surgery. Apparently that's quite painful........... eh lagers.

Deffo get it Xrayed, or else you might end up walking around with a horrible swollen ankle for a few months due to a minor dislocation because you were too cheap to go to a hospital in the US. Now who would be so dumb as to do that?

Almost forgot I needed to post on here myself.

Was looking forward to an early dinner in town with my mum yesterday evening followed by the Richard Herring gig at City Hall. Instead I got some horrible throat infection / headache / shivers type thing Satuday afternoon and spent all of Sunday felling like death, taking anti-flu pills and sipping lucozade. Not happy.

 :furious:

(hey dave, tell me the gig was shit to cheer me up even though I know it wont have been)

Bad news Andi, hope you're healing pronto. Did you seek medical advice?

Still in tonnes of lower back pain myself after taking the washing out the machine four weeks ago. NNFN!!!!!!

Cheers, tentatively climbed on it today and it seems fine. Looks all nice and purple.though! iI sought medical advice from Dr. I. Buprofen and a man named Timothy Taylor and it seems fine. If the swelling persists I'll go for some further advice.

Saddle bag fell off on the cycle to work this morning, retracing my tracks I couldn't find it.

Bye bye padlock, climbing shoes, chalk bag, shorts, belt, pump and some other crap that was in there.

An expensive and shit start to the week.  >:(

That sucks arse, unlucky. Is it worth checking the local Police station to see if it has been handed in? Long shot I know, but stranger things and all that.
