We're supposed to be flying to Tenerife on Friday morning. Mrs S just called to say it looks as if Raf may have chickenpox.

I don't believe it.

I assume she's blaming you?

:-\ :wall: Really enjoying climbing in the Beacon winter aggregate, but completely stuck on every problem that I've not ticked yet. Two whole sessions with nothing, NNFN!  :wall:

No way you can just apply make-up to cover the pox and take him anyway?  Seriously, that sucks nuts though...

As of last night he didn't have any on his face so we'll see!  ;)

The timing is unbelievable, if he'd got it a few days earlier he'd definitely have been past the contagious stage by Friday, as it is who knows.

Got to see what the doctor says today but at least we're covered by insurance if he can't fly. Really need this holiday though......

Well that's that. Doctor says no way he can be given a fit to fly letter. If we risked it and the airline refused to take us then we can't claim  on the insurance so there's no way it's worth it.

Much as I hate dealing with them, the insurance company have already said that we are definitely covered so hopefully we'll get all our money back (I'm counting no chickens).

harsh mate.

silver lining??
having chicken pox in childhood is often more mild than in adulthood.... less chnace of viral encephalitis and multi organ failure. make sure all yr kids get it this time, may as well have em all to blame  ;)

Cheers. Yeah I know it's much better for him to get it at this age. Just any other week of the year would have been better!

 :furious:

We only have the one so it's all his fault.  ;)

It's been a while since I've had a proper car related NNFN , but I was driving the car this morning, and thought the steerimg felt odd. Had a quick look under the bonnet, and discovered the power steering fluid is virtually empty. There must be a leak. Shit. Oh well, I'll survive. Oh wait... that unusual box I just unplugged, was the ECU? Best plug it back in I guess. Hmmm... now why doesn't my car start? At all... like nothing is happening. Ok, so the lights work, but that is all. DAMN!

Car issues suck. Hope it gets sorted soon.

I've had a power steering fluid leak from the steering rack for about 8 months now. To get it replaced is £950....reconditioned one is £350+....keeping it topped up has cost me about £40 so far.

My ankle made a nasty popping sound while doing a fairly easy problem at the NIBL. Cue swearing, pain, ice, vitamin I, hobbling and no more problems of note  >:(. Possible ligament/tendon damage, not sure what  :'(

After trying hard to fight off a shitty headcold for about a week, yesterday my voice disappeared. Still not back. Anyone know if it will clear up by itself, or do I need a course of antibiotics now?

in no order of evidence base.... vit c.. eckinehcia (the real liquid stuff),  more fish & less meat, low processed carbs, regular fresh air... if working hard ringfence stress free time ( b'berries and iferns turn off).... yoga / meditation.... perhaps visualisation of goals and aims...

i should know, my last job nearly killed me as a person,  nai on ruined my family and  I put on 4 kg, hence couldn't climb 7a, hence felt worse, hence drank too much, hence job harder etc.... etc.... etc... spirals are made to be broken.

havin said that lot..... havin young uns and a bit of bad luck u can be ill for no god damn good reason, a lot, until they settle at school.....

finally decided to do an oil change on car yfy.rather than take the oil to a council approved waste oil container with proper health and saftey.i did the usual sharratt method of digging a hole in the garden and bunging it in.i covered it a bit of soil which floated on top.time for a dog walk,we both jumped in the car.then i noticed the oil on the back seat.the dog must have dunked its foot in it as it ran around the garden and it had a 7 inch boot of oil on its back leg  :wall: nnfn

what a negative life i must lead, another nnfn.an expected nnfn though.
i went the bouldering wall with turner today, chuffing hell.found it hard going managed a cpl of v4/5 not climbing for months and putting on weight even though im strong are not good for climbing.
conclusion if anyone says weights are good for climbing you have my permission to poke them in the eye.
a yyfy to finish it though,i did enjoy it.

So......
Got spot on sequences for both my remaining problems on the island
That's where the good news ends...

Neither problem went - went back to the first after sorting the sequence - was wet.
So went to the second - sorted a sequence but ran out of arms - then it rained.
Then the car died on the way back... and the Arsenal lost.....
ho hmmmmm

and before anyone asks I don't have a dog so that's not gonna die next.

Girlfriend was doing a core routine on one of those door frame pullup bars when it broke. Broken back no feeling below the  knees. Off for surgery soon. Fingers crossed.

NO NO FUCKING NO

All of you ch.eck how solid your bars are. Now. Please. Or don't do inverts without a spot.
