Nope, but should need re-doing in a few years... :P
2 steps down into garage though, so head room isn't too bad.

don't worry about the house problems, you should of definately taken off your rose tinted specs before you plugged money into it tho.
We have just been gazumped!(practically unheard of in this day and age) on the house we were buying, luckily we hadn't spent any money on it (only just tho), put in a slightly higher offer, if not we are pretty psyched for our 2nd choice

Poor night vision was the pointer for me - driving on motnorways and just about being on the offramp before I could read signs. That was in my mid 20s. Luckily they haven't got that much worse since. Get used to disposable contact lenses asap.

Aside from the cost is there still a stigma associated with needing corrections to your vision?

Chris is right. Disposable contacts are the don (coupled with a pair of glasses for when you can't be bothered to put contacts in). Being part of team blind isn't nearly such a pain in the arse nowadays.

if you use vdu's at work then your employer is supposed to contribute towards your opticians/glasses bill I think.

I think there might be some get out clause for employers, along the lines of if you have reason to walk around a bit or something they dont have to pay. A percentage of your time at your desk sort of thing.

I think he misunderstood your crap pun.

Pun was unintentional (only realised after writing it, opted to leave it in though), but if fatdoc isn't worried about cost or having to wear glasses why is it a NNFN?

If it wasn't a crap pun, why do you think there is a stigma attached to anyone needing corrections to their vision?

I don't think there is which is why I asked fatdoc if there was one for him (which might explain why he see's this as a NNFN issue, the other reason I could think of was the associated cost).

Look on the bright side, if glass mean you'rs old, some folk have been old from a very young age.

Un spite of what Jasper says, they are a bit of a hassle.

You could always reach for the lasers...

And you're now a little bit older than when you last viewed this thread, it all stacks up.

At least you can still walk/cycle/do whatever the fuck you want for a good few years yet.  Wait till you're body starts completely giving up on you/you lose your marbles, then you'll have something to....cheese on toast.

I'm getting my motorised wheelchair on order now before the rush.

I'm recovering from a busted A2, about 2 months into a 3 month healing process looks like.

Sacro-iliac seized up whilst I was doing weights instead, so I've been in pain since Xmas gradually improving under a rather charming but expensive lady physio, still hurts when seated though.

Went to the wall today, Nike Air was asking after my injury -all going swimmingly I said.... had to stop later due to a nasty sharp pain in the back of the elbow, like a hot needle into the bursa. Hasn't improved since, and can only be a tear to the triceps tendon over the bursa. FFS!

Oh, and my house (for sale) had a major flood off the rising main over Xmas while we were away, ££££££££££S of damage - in between exchange and completion (now delayed). I kid you not.

Welcome to 2011 :'( :'(

Plus Fatdoc won't be sympathetic cos he won't be able to read the post. Bugger.
