Great trip to font, then managed to completely fuck a ring finger pulley on Fleur de Rhum at the end of the last day. What makes it even worse is;
a) Some friends crushed it and I didn't
b) I nearly flashed it before consigning myself to weeks/months of being a punter or doing everything with front two...

Oli :commiserations, tho. you do have my congrats on this salient fact: you hurt yourself AT THE END of the trip, rather than THREE DAYS BEFORE IT, as I did a fortnight ago.

Believe me, belaying your mates one-handed at El Chorro isn't all it's cracked up to be. Also fingers, whilst a bugger don't prevent you from running, swimming, puntering on jugs etc. Trashed rotator-cuffs however, do. Fortunately this hasn't in any way impaired my capacity to consume calorie-laden-cake/lard ...and BEER
So it's not all bad news...

I fell off the jug of Strawberries at Curbar today - I had my bloody great mitt on the thing (after lipping it a few goes before) and I just fell off - bollocks!!

The upside of this miserable failure was that it gave me a good reason to do a bit of ranting and kick a few wood chips about so it wasn't a total waste of a day but I thought that I was finally going to crack my first 6B. Still at least I now I can do it now - I just have to not fall off!

I was using Sloper's helpful beta which is actually the same as Duncan's helpful beta so either Sloper has successfully sandbagged two different people with the same duff beta or he actually knows what he is talking about in this case.

Easy, instead of going up for the crack with your left hand go up with your right first to the poor sloper and then up with your left, this then allows you to bring your right foot up and then stand up on it. A poor vaariant but a good sequence for a sandbag.

Unbelievable. Landed awkwardly on my ankle (very awkwardly) and result is a tennis ball ankle. Fuck, NNFN.

Had a whole weekend of climbing planned too. Looks like

for me. Drown my sorrows, weather's too good to be missing out.

Un-fucking-believable. Now my car's going tits up on me. Still a week away from climbing. NNFN.

Big plasticky thing in middle of road flew up into my front bumper, nice little thump. Didn't hear any noises afterwards, thought it was ok so carried on. Is it fuck. Front bumper in bits, at least it's still hanging on to my car. What's more, was on way to garage to sort out tracking due to scrubbing on a wheel - turned out to be ok so it's something else, got me and the mechanics stumped. Weekend planned to strip down suspension and rebuild.

And to top it all off... Exhaust has blown. Fucking vauxhalls. Steer clear of them. Of course, if you need advice on an astra just fire away. Every answer will be retaliated with a "NNFN, ain't worth the bother". Lucky is my middle name(!)

Bummer man, hope it's all OK - I've been through that same shit recently. On the plus side, my lead and bouldering grades jumped dramatically as a result, and I got to do a lot more more

Poor Scraggooboo. I've had 1 billion (approx) car issues in the last 4 months, it's not good. So important to the climbing lifestyle and so demoralising when they go wrong

I went up to try New Rose again today. Unusually, I warmed up well and taped up.
1st go slapped the right hand to the break with left foot flagging.
2nd go I was going to put the left foot on a decent hold, this was THE go, prepare to crush.

This is the video of that attempt. Make sue you have sound on so you can hear that A2 go :'(
