I would love a cat that big!  I'm not wholly onboard with having cats like that as pets though. :(

Servals shouldn't really be kept as pets though I agree.

However, if it were a Savannah rather than a Serval I wouldn't have a problem (even more so the higher the F-number), after all domesticated cats of all sorts of breeds exist.

I used to know someone who bred Savannahs and they were incredible animals, I'm kind of on the fence about them too though.  I don't really like the idea of breeding new types of cats, it feels like it'll just go down the route of all the poor dogs who can't breath or walk properly becasue they've been messed with so much.  They are gorgeous though/

Tricky, but humans have already domesticated cats (and many other animals).

I know, it's not a fully thought out - or rational - argument on my part. ;)

I guess having a bigger cat would depend on the size of the house in which it lives!

I was watching You Tube videos on servals and they still regularly spray and mark territory and you have to have a certain amount of space for them and provide a specialised diet but I reckon space would be the least of your worries!

No photo, but...

the 4 year old was lying down looking very closely at the cat

"why is her side going up and down like that?" she asked

"that's her breathing" said I

"why doesn't she breathe out of her nose and mouth?"

that's logic
