There's baby emus just up the road at the moment (saw them this morning when driving past) so we're going to try and get out with the camera and get some pics in the next day or two - hopefully with a big fence between us and the parents as they've a reputation for being a bit bad-tempered! Something a little different for the thread.

Like the pups, but friends have had them and one went a bit bonkers when older, and the other one was just fucked.

Visited the local wildlife rescue & research/breeding centre at the weekend and met some of the locals:
Red-necked Wallaby (sorry about the glowing eye, the light was dreadful!)

The Emus were all in the closed area of the sanctuary so couldn't get any shots of the youngsters.

The Tawny Frogmouth is the most pissed-off looking creature I've ever seen. Perhaps its just been told that its named after a shithole quarry in Runcorn?
