Final third of show getting a bit disturbing, no doubt intended.

Simply amazing shit, the perfect after work stress relief show!

I read somewhere his actual name is Darren but "Darren Brown" was alreayd taken when he joined equity.

I went to see him live at the city hall recently. It was well jackson. He's a total legend. And a woofter apparently, so you're shit out of luck ladies.

His book 'Tricks of the Mind' is an interesting read. He's reasonably open about some stuff, and it struck me that most of it just comes down to bloody hard work (creating memory palaces etc), or conjuring tricks.

The trick at the end with the long piece of paper seemed reasonably obvious (I'm not suggesting it was easy though).

I'll lend you the book if you like Jon.

Interesting if Dave's right about his sexuality (finger on the pink pulse there Dave - well done), as I'm sure that the book talks about girlfriends and trying to impress girls. He must have had a late change of heart. I wonder if he saw that coming?

He came out quite recently, so it is true, I remember being quite gutted.  ;D

I think he's amazing; I have no clue how he does some of the 'tricks' he does.  I know a lot of it is about being highly intelligent and being able to read people really well, there are certain bits where it's obvious how he's doing it - the girl with the recently dyed hair being one off the top of my head - but some of it is just mental, like knowing about the man who wanted to shave his sack and the man who'd won a house in France, how did he do that without even being able to see them?

I'd like to think it's a double bluff and actually he does have magic powers, but he says he doesn't cause he knows people wouldn't believe him, that'd be quite cool.

For the table thing the most obvious explanation is a big magnet under the stage and the cloth is keeping it pinned down. However this doesn't explain how it's done in different locations that aren't a theatre and not how the old skool Victorians would have done it. I also don't think Derren would be satisfied unless it was really fucking clever and not so obvious.

After reading his book I think for the stuff like 20 questions he knew what the people were going to choose before they even chose it themselves. Things like "can I see your hands?...is it a rugby ball?" I think is all showmanship.
