Sheffield Adventure Film Festival
January 02, 2009, 02:18:06 pm
Hi everyone, just to let you know that we are busy planning the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (27 Feb to 2 Mar).

Book your tickets now, full price is only £6.20 (per short film compilation):
Showroom Cinema, Paternoster Row, Sheffield, S1 2BX
Box Office: 0114 275 7727, Website: www.showroom.org.uk

Without a shadow of a doubt it'll be the best line up of adventure films and climbing speakers ever put together over a single weekend, anywhere, ever! What’s more, it takes place in the biggest independent cinema outside London, voted best cultural venue in the region.

The 50 or so films include award winners from Kendal, Banff, Graz, Trento, Telluride, Edinburgh, Vancouver, Llanberis and some that haven’t even been screened yet. Watch blocks of films themed to suit your tastes or get yourself a day-film pass and settle in for some armchair adventure.

Festival Highlights:

Jagged Globe Lectures: Chris Sharma, Ron Fawcett interviewed by Ed Douglas, Sonnie Trotter (tbc), Adele Pennington, Robert Mads Anderson.

The Great British Grade Debate with the BMC: John Arran, John Dunne, James Pearson, Steve McClure, Lucy Creamer, Dave MacLeod, Dave Birkett, Nick Sellars, Jack Geldard & Nick Colton (chair).

Climbing Works Party: Live bands and DJ’s from Saturday afternoon through till the early hours in the Showroom bar and restaurant.

Also in the pipeline: Trials bikes displays, urban orienteering event, youth audience development scheme, photo exhibition, film pitching workshop.

Keep your eye on the website for more information as it is updated daily from here on in… www.shaff.co.uk
