Buster Martin has done Furia de jabalí 9a+ in Siurana

It's on his IG story and he's logged it on UKC

Nice, pretty short list of British people who have climbed 9a+.

In other news, Alex Moore has climbed The Groove at Cratcliffe, staying pretty true to Pearson's line by the sound of his UKC log. Second/third ascent depending on how you feel about Jorgeson missing out the second crux on his ascent..

https://climbing-history.org/list/1/strong-british-male-sport-climbers

If you want to be pedantic, Josh I skipped 9a+ and went straight to 9b with Rainman so technically he's not climbed 9a+ (as far as Im aware anyway, he's obvs a wad so could well have done some 9a+s under the radar.)

Franco is the other person on the list with his Twll Mar slabs.

Fair enough, guess it depends how you interpret.

Josh has done Batman which is 9a/+  (What was Toby's 9a+?)

So 9b list,

100% 2nd ascent. It has always irrationally annoyed me that jorgeson basically did half the route but claimed the full thing. I bet it annoyed Pearson as well!

I assume jakaitch will be referring to his ascent of Batman? climbing-history.org only uses whole grades for climbs so Batman gets 9a which is why Toby doesn't show up on the list above.

Zach Galla made the second ascent of The Process 8C+ a couple of weeks ago, Daniel Wood's highball testpiece in Bishop.

I doubt there are any 9a+ ascents out there that we don't know about

Really? I'm not sure I agree there many shy eurowads out there... Maybe Enzo perhaps but these days it must be very hard to keep anything on the DL with social media etc. Anyway, pretty pointless debate.

Just having a flick through https://www.8a.nu/ascents/global at ascents of 9a+ and above, there's a lot of names on there many of whom I don't recognise. I doubt there are many 9a+ ascents that are totally unknown about, but given they're not typically newsworthy I'd imagine there are a lot you wouldn't hear about unless you knew where to look and/or who to ask.

How many Brits know about Amos, possibly the second best German sport climber? Did 2* 9a+ in Rodellar last autumn and a shit load of 9as the last few years. I don't even know his surname 😂

Is that Amos Kito ;)

Does he have a surname, or is it just Alex says hi?

If you read my post, you'll see I don't know... I only heard of him through a mutual friend maybe 18 months ago. I was surprised I'd not heard of him before, but reckon there will be a few others flying under the radar like that (though probably not loads)

I think it is Amos Lehne. He's very good at climbing and shockingly good at languages. He's not making a lot of fuss about either, does he?

Is there a paper of record for sport climbing performances? What would that be? I can think of a few climbers who's done 9a+ according to rumours/eye-witnesses but where the accent is unlikely to show up on the portion of internet indexed by search engines. 9a+ is still absolute an elite preformance and should still be news-worthy imho.
