Fiend - I would LOVE IT if you had an Instagram. (I hardly ever look at FB and only really to cringe at various red-trouser-wearing freaks I went to school with and so hardly ever see your stuff.)

I want multimedia reporting from the intersection of coastal chossaneering, gabber and toy soldiers. In fact, have you ever considered painting an army of soldiers and installing them inside a remote control car?

Your fans DESERVE this...

In fact, I would go so far as to say that, if you did redirect your social media presence, London Climber would definitely consider appointing you as a global ambassador, and also start work on developing a full range of Fiend™ branded climbing / moshing apparel and related products.

Be warned that if you do go on Instagram then you have to put likes on other people's pictures.

I've recently had my account deactivated  by Instagram due to not putting enough (any) likes elsewhere over the past year.

Not too much of a loss to be honest.

Rob that all sounds somewhat tedious. Also Insta videos are turd on a stick where the stick is also made of turd. No controls and no fullscreen on desktop. If there are any non-insta links to Steve Mac's footage can someone please post them....

Yoss, I did once consider putting a bluetooth speaker on the Savage XS*, and bolting a buttplug on the front, and then hooning it around Glasgow parks with gabber blasting out, although to be fair that would be a cultural improvement to some of them....

Easy enough to get a couple likes per year if you are impressed with a cartwheel into running three laps around the bouldering wall followed by a double dyno to a hold 1/2 the size of the moon.

I did like that dodgy gear page and obviously would check Will's weekly updates for any dabs that would need reporting to the ethics police...

Jorg Verhoeven has soloed Total Brutal 8b+

https://www.instagram.com/p/CPGmTwDh3B8/?utm_medium=copy_link

He might say highball in that post, but it just isn't. It's a solo, and a pretty mind-boggling one given the traffic running underneath from about half height.

Time for a double thread split into both "Hardest soloing achievements" and "By demons be driven" (about scary / unhealthy / destructive motivations for challenging /dangerous climbing)??

Time for a double thread split

Needs to be split and logged from the first mention of Jorg's climb, in my opinion (no slight at all on Bradders. Any of us might have posted this on first seeing his IG post).

I’ve split into two further topics as Fiend suggests.

Andy - it’s still a significant repeat irrespective of motive and risk to motorists so I’ve split accordingly

Fair enough. I'm not sure I agree, but acknowledge I'm not the one who has to make these decisions.

Dani Fuertes just did Patanics in Rodellar. He said that a hold broke a week ago and the crux, as it were, is harder now.

In the interests of list maintenance, did he offer a grade? Jorge gave it 9b originally If I remember rightly, but didn't the chief downgrader say 9a/+?

I asked and he said 9a+ now or maybe 9a+/b.

Looks like we need a new grade...9a+/9a+/9b should cover it.

The very definition of "hard 9a+" surely!

The grade within the grade...

Have to say, it's going to spoil your day if you rock up expecting a steady sesh on a 9a+ that actually turns out in reality to be 9b...

It's Rodellar, the grade is a claim written in sand anyway.

Anyway, the 9bs in the Ali Baba cave are apparently harder.

Don't they depend on how many people you have with fans?

Surely fans plus a cape and flares takes a full grade off?
