The Slovenian girls are on fire - 9a for Mina markovich and 8c flash for janja gabret or however you spell it! First 8c flash for a girl other than Durif's doubted one or have I forgotten something? She appears to be the future of hard female climbing along with Ashima

Janja flashed another 8c to prove the first one wasn't a fluke  :o pretty dismaying- I'd never heard of her before. And Megos has finally joined the 9b club, First Round, First Minute. Surely the next guy to do 9b+...

Well Janja is still a youth, she might not have done much rock yet.

However, in 2015 on plastic, I believe she won everything in her youth category and never fell off.

Then beat all the world cup boulder seniors at La Sportiva Legends.

Old beast Chris Sharma has sent his boulderproject "Catalan Witness the Fitness" at Cova de Ocell. 8B/+ into a 8A+.

Copy from his Insta:

"I had a great start to the new year by sending the "Catalan Witness the Fitness" at Cova de Ocell the other day with @pol_roca @jorge.visser @giancolafoto. I've been trying this line on and off for quite some time so it felt good to see it through finally. It's been great process getting back into the bouldering groove! I'm not so sure about the grade but it's something like an 8B/+ into a 8A+ , so whatever that means ;) It will be really cool to see more climbers try it and get their opinion! Much gratitude to all my friends, family and sponsors for all of the support! I'm looking forward to an awesome new year with many more exciting things to come! Also stay tuned for footage of the send and a new video project we've been working on!"

I imagine the campus wouldn't feel as satisfying as foot on anyways. Should be an eliminate !

It actually feels boss when you campus it.  I've always preached that you do have to hold hang until you are fully stable, and then pull.  The contact is top, the swing is heart stopping.  Now why wouldn't that feel satisfying?  A very satisfying 7c+ I've always said.  I tell you, kids these days...  The Ace however - trick-some.

I said 'not as satisfying' not 'not satisfying'. Doing stuff the classic way is always more rewarding. Hence why you get to feel like you've done a hard problem when you do Trigger Cut and I feel like I've cheated my way up dressed in rubber  :).

La Planta De Shiva 9b by mr Jacob Schubert  :clap2:

LA PLANTA DE SHIVA! After the biggest fight of my life I managed to clip the anchor of this amazing line in Villanueva del Rosario. 2nd Ascent after Adam Ondra. Super happy and proud to have send this one, my hardest route so far. Time for fiesta! "

Assuming the grade still stands, Polish Dave just added himself to the list of honorary british 8C climbers by doing Serenata. A great effort as he's stuck a lot of time into it over the past year.

Polish Dave - good work!! And with a proper few kids and family right? That adds the grade by at least two as he probably gets about 25 mins sleep a night.

And he's not even had the benefit of the crag getting drastically less steep to achieve it.

Reference to the school Duma, and people climbing their projects after they've been trying them for a while at 4 degrees steeper than they should have been

Jimmy Webb climbed The Game 8C today and said that it's one of the hardest boulders he has ever tried...
