Can't quite believe this has raised so little interest - 1st font 8b by a woman in the UK, in 1 short session. Totally brilliant and amazing.

Saw it mentioned on Twatter yesterday, had no idea what grade it was and was too lazy to look it up.  Great effort, hope the psyk & ascents continue for Shauna.

I guess the lack of interest is down to the low-key reportage.

Think Ned's done it, which is where the heel beta came from

Ned used a heel to pull off the floor, but not for the top bit.

Not much response to this, but then it occurred to me that people had forgotten what it was (Pete Robins' 8B on Carreg Mianog in the Ogwen Valley). Anyway, he did it in a single session!!!

One day ascent. What an amazing boulder. One of the best for the grade in UK. Shame it was so wet but still had an absolute blast on this boulder, The sit start will be next. Wales is amazing.

Doubly good effort if it was wet!

did he try this a few years ago but called the attempt off to help rescue some other climbers on the face?

I think he'd already binned it due to avalanche danger, but yes, he tried to save Inaki Ochoa. Good effort Steck - there's been a lot of snow elsewhere this week and it's been v cold. Living up to his nickname!
