This is amazing, well done Hazel. I thought her ascents in the Bugaboos a couple of years ago were incredibly impressive but this is off the scale!

Just spoke to him and he sounded v proud. She hadn't done it in a one'er on a TR, but apparently cruised it on the lead. Big runouts above the top pegs. Waddage.

Sounds as though the pegs are a lot more vital to the route than made out in the first ascent reports

Traverse of the Gods is fast becoming a trade route! Effort Nike Air.

Is Reverse of the Gods the same difficulty as Trav of the Gods?

Strictly speaking there isn't a 'Reverse of the Gods', the Traverse of the Gods can be done in either direction although most people do it L-R, don't know which way it was originally done. Most people think it's marginally easier L-R, though I've heard a good argument for it being a bit easier R-L - you do the crux of BOTR sooner and just after a good rest.

More Girls In Crimpy Slab Shocker here: http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=464745

Oh wait, no, this is more like Girls Finding It Easy Due To Small Hand Size *, surely  :o

NOTE THAT THE ABOVE COMMENTS ARE FACETIOUS BOLLOX AND NOT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY NO MATTER HOW DESPERATELY PO-FACED AND NITPICKY YOU ARE. I'M ACTUALLY REPORTING THIS COS I HAPPENED TO RANDOMLY SEE IT AND THINK IT IS ACTUALLY RATHER COOL AND GOOD EFFORT ETC ETC SINCE THESE PROBLEMS ARE RATHER ESOTERIC AND GRUESOME.

* This is just a joke. It's not a "point" at all and is to be taken at all seriously**

** No really. I know how serious significant repeats are and I don't actually mean anything by it***

*** Trust me. The only thing I genuinely mean in this thread is it being cool that someone is repeating a hideous Wide Boyz offwidth

It won't fit, I'll have to tinker with it.

Hmmm, I remember Eszter when she worked at the Edge, gotta be the same person. Haven't heard about her being much of a crack demon, doing this in 3 goes sounds impressive.

Don't think small hands would help on Melvyn Bragg given it appears to require double fist jams

Nah, they'd just get in and chimney it. Snakes with tit-jams.

"Snakes with tit-jams." I think that'd fit in very well as new route name in Vedauwoo!

MB is easier if you have skinny knees, big ears and fists like P Widdy. So if Mitchell the Mentalist comments that it's 2 grades easier than Ray's then surely time for a downgrade to V1 then  ;)

Good effort by Eszter though. She was always keen way back in the days of working at the Edge.

Impresive! Typical though, I decided to work late rather than go to the cave and I miss this! Mind you, given I struggle with the warm ups there I probably wouldn't have shown my face within 10 meters.  :off:
