Northumberland trails
November 12, 2008, 11:28:25 am
Anyone know of any other than the Kielder Forest / Deadwater trails? Planning on heading down for a long weekend tomorrow night, but forecast for Sat looks wet, so some biking would be an option. Any info would be great.

Thanks

Not ridden it but planned a (mainly) legal circuit round the Cheviot from Wooler side.  Get an OS map and its obvious.

Also done some bits round Belford area on paths and bridleways from Belford out to St Cuthberts Cave then round Kyloe Woods and back over to Belper.  All very easy, i.e. not technical, but reasonable fun and not too boggy.

Good luck and let us know if you find anything better.

Chris,

try the team chr site (http://www.team-chr.co.uk/) and click on routes. Thrunton Woods is a good laugh - quite a bit to do there. You could also do some routes there (check out the risque names in the guide). Not far from some good bouldering too.

Cheers for the info guys. Didn't do any in the end - weather was too good, but stored in brain for future reference.
