Kudos for eschewing the standard "long levers" lankmaster's excuse!

 ;)

Any interest in a lantern sess on Underhand tonight or tomorrow. I'm keen, can't get out in the day, and don't have any lanterns  :boohoo:

If anyone goes up tomorrow (tues) could you do me a huge favour and scrape off any snow above/on the keel so it gets a chance to dry off before Wednesday? Thanks if anyone's going. TT

I was just wondering if anyone local was going up to do some sweeping. I dont suppose it gets badly affected but if Underhand could get the same treatment, that would be lovely

Are you heading up today TT? Would you mind checking on Underhand if you do, please? Not keen to drive an hour round trip to find it unclimbable!

It was a little bit condensed in the mist upstairs yesterday arfo, but overall I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of climable rock. Although looking at the forecast, more light snow forecast...

There is quite a lot of snow and it is of a decidedly wet nature: I wouldn't be holding your breath!

Snow all over in guiseley. The main roads are clear but anything that isn't vertical has snow on it. It'll be a swine driving up there through Huby too. A fool's errand me thinks.

Access just about ok, but there's no climbing to be had. Stuff is plastered and its now melting with seep and runoff down most problems I've looked at. Might be ok tomorrow afternoon but I think there's still plenty to melt and dribble down tomorrow..
Thursday would be a fair bet. Lots of snow though, foot drifts etc..

OK, I lied a little.. there was some dry rock. I dried off the keel and scraped the snow draining immediately above it. It should be fine tomorrow (but bring a towel to stop the drainage from above if you're going). All the stuff on the overhanging parts of the Virgin were OK, on the road facing side and the side facing the Keel. Underhand was 1/2 OK, unfortunately a big gopping streak down the boss you have to drop onto with the RH - so thats out. DWR was all gopping on the face apparently - two huge wet streaks down it.. The rest - I didnt look - but this is what it looked like:

In case anyone's wondering, good conditions today with hardly a lump of snow in sight. And it's not raining...yet...
