Your favourite sloper problems...
October 29, 2008, 09:41:04 am
Seeing as the weather is nice and frosty, and the grit will be stickier than a nightclub floor at 3am in freshers week, lets have your favourite problems that use the loveliest and least likely slopers. Extra points for more esoteric stuff, and even more points for ones which would be good for headtorching (ie. low, safe, good landing).

I'll open with A Case of Mistaken Identity at Apparent North. Did this the other night and it was brilliant. Good slopey holds and no heel/toe locks either.

And of course most of the Secret Garden, but especially Zaf's as those holds seem pretty unlikely at first.

I'd have to go for Blind Fig and Shit via the Hard Grit sequence (I don't care if this is harder than the mantel method cos I can't do it this way!)  Lovely conditions dependent moves that feel a ton easier in decent nick!

Having just returned from a Devon holiday I'd have to put forward The Sloper Traverse at Bonehill Rocks on t' Moor.

What is mistaken identity at apparent north?

Its the traverse of the lip of the hanging slab below the edge at the left hand side. Climbs really well I thought, very sequency if you're as week as me.

The sloper on the arete of the cave at robin hoods stride is quite delicious. Those blobs underneath are pretty tasty too.

Moby Dick at Cuisiniere, felt very unlikely at first.
