The irony is Ireland don't want the tax, as taking it makes them less attractive as a corporate tax haven for other businesses. Even though if they took it it'd be enough money to give every person in Ireland over €2500 each in cash.

(I believe) Amazon are paying the full whack for taxes for any activities in Ireland, it's just for places outside of Ireland they are getting away with this taking the piss low rate.

But yes, obviously Ireland don't want it, it puts corporations off, same with recent cases against Starbucks in Netherlands, and Chrysler / Fiat in Luxembourg.

Looks like Amazon are setting up a warehouse in Portlethen up here, preparing for Brexit? :)

Isn't that the point? The commisioner's ruling is effectively against Ireland for unlawfully undercutting other member states of the EU to get Apple to register there.

Thank Fuck for that. News about my favourite yeast extract is clearly more important than whatever is happening in Syria at the moment.....

Make a great film

Whilst thats a good idea - I suggest making it into a great idea by having more than one snake. In fact lets McHollywood Supersize it up with a metric fuck-ton(tm) of snakes on an aircraft...

Good on LEGO.

Might have to go buy myself a millennium falcon to say thank you to them.

Maybe I've just been ground down by the overall shitness of life in 2016 and am unduly cynical, but part of me wondered if they'd already come to the end of their agreement and just saw this as a good it of PR - after all it just says the agreement has finished (not that they've ended it) and there won't be any more in the foreseeable future (not that they never will).

They've been doing the giveaways for years, but maybe you're right and it's PR spin, but still definitely burning the bridge for doing it in the future, and makes a stand.

The MiL always buys the Mail, so usually gets the LEGO toys for the kids, which is great for the , but feels to me like accepting blood money.

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/cabinet-split-threatens-to-derail-may-s-brexit-talks-hxfwmv2td

So, anyone come across anything tangible in the way of progress or movement on Brexit, or is it the clusterfuck it appears? Does anyone have a view on how long May can spin out her moment of power? Might be wishful thinking on my part (I'm not a fan (neither do I like Corbyn much)) but with serious challenges coming from both sids of the debate, she must be vulnerable and the calls for a GE are starting to sound quite loud.
I feel like she's only surviving because the Libs are wet and lost, Lab have lost the plot and look like a riot in a kindergarten, hardly anyone knows who the Greens are and UKIP are fucking nutters.
Has politics in the UK ever been such a joke?

Edit:

Sorry forgot the Times is paywalled.
BBC version is more "balanced" (gives the Gov. line as the predominant tone).

Government rejects leaked memo's Brexit claims

Meanwhile, in Britain, Gladys Watson-KnowFA-Tosspot-Smyth leads her W.I. ladies  in an heroic stand against "Big Wind" and decries the evil conspiracy to undermine honest Frackers (her husband has shares there and assures her it's all pukka).
For more information, Gladys can be found in her drawing-room, masturbating  to her life-size Nigel Farage poster.

I possibly got out of bed on the wrong side today.
