The plot thickens....

The wife's first name is "Rubbina", so if she married the victim, she'd have a hell of a new name!

Norwegians propose to give Finland a mountain top as centennial gift.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/norway/12055542/Norway-launches-campaign-to-give-Finland-a-mountain.html

Excellent idea, a more widespread implementation of the concept could remedy a number of unfortunate geographical deficiencies. Norway is short of flat bits, one stunning mountain dropping straight into the sea after another gets a bit same-y. Finland could provide some boring fens and birch forests as a quid pro quo.

Could we persuade the Spanish to give us two or three decent sport-climbing crags? They've clearly got far more than they need and, as Gibraltar demonstrates, happily tolerate a British enclave. Think of the benefit to the surrounding local economy. I'm not sure what the payback would be though...

Talking to MrsTT (left after the PO reshuffle) it's not at all surprising. Sadly. Failing Grayling. Bellend.

Apparently the French Catering firm's company motto is "let them eat cake"

I wanted to join the probation service, glad I didn't.

I recon youd be a great PO Guy, but it's a job with a horrible workload where you have to take shortcuts if you don't want to stay late every night. And the effects of shortcuts can be very very bad :( mrsTT misses the in the trenches spirit of her colleagues but nothing else. Another important job that people do because they care about other people devalued....

Actually, I see little sense in bombing. It has very little chance of achieving very much.

Military action would need to be on the ground to achieve anything.

The main problem being the Media's interpretation of that action. Militarily, the Iraq and Afgan campaigns were successful.

The repercussions of those actions, however...

There's those pesky "repercussions" again.

Anyone would think we're too stupid to learn the lessons of history.

Things like, the fighting and winning of battles does not kill an idea or letting corrupt politicians (is there any other sort?) and greedy profiteers "help" rebuild wartorn nations (and relieve them of their onerous and burdensome natural resources); tends to cause more trouble than than the battles

Or, that trying to use the sledge hammer that is an army, as a Police force; is so fucking dumb it hurts.

Or, that using 200kg of HE (however "smart" it might be) to kill a room full of legitimate targets tends to spill over and do more than peel the paint in the room next door; in fact it might peel paint several streets away.

Viewing it all from a distance and not knowing how these places normally look, it has been had to truly grasp how much water is inundating the North right now; then I saw this:

VanillaIsis, Isis, baby.

Social media certainly provides a wonderful arena for mocking the self-righteous morons of the world.
