On the wireless, the Medway CAB man quoted a client having 6 - 0,  sixty, credit cards. Medway is a far cry from Shipley Glen.

As ARFK knows, I've been to Gillingham...... but still, the AVERAGE unsecured debt? I don't believe that figure can be right.

Say you had £43k on credit cards you normally have to pay something like 5% of the balance a month. That would be £2150 a month in credit card repayments. The average household income there is about £32k (presuming it's not changed a great deal since 2009). The debt would be completely unserviceable, and that's supposed to be the average.

One bloke with sixty credit cards is completely believable but an entire region having that average level of debt (unsecured, not mortgage) doesn't add up to me.
