OK, I know it's a relative thing but doesn't the use of language about "raging wildfires" in pieces like this:

look a little silly when you put pictures like this

alongside this little number from 2009 down here.

I don't want to make light of the fires then or now but I do get pissed off with the OTT language that gets thrown around by both public authorities and the media these days. Makes me think of the knife gag in one of the Crocodile Dundee films.....

The australian case may be more solid RE NDS, piracy and the Oz pay channel Sky swallowed up.. listening on the radio yesterday, apparently there are a few thousand emails released by a former NDS employee in Oz that are quite incriminating...

I'm reminded of Rod Liddle's article (yes I know he's a prick but it was a good article) in the Sunday Times which described Dubai in similar glowing terms but I can't link to it any more as presumably it's behind the paywall.
