Love the way the BBCs "Sydney" correspondent claims the story "gripped Australia." I can assure him nobody was paying much attention in Melbourne - it got a mention in the hourly news on various radio stations but not much more and the local talkback radio wasn't exactly flooded with calls about it either!

PS After 16 years away I'd forgotten just how much mutual indifference there was between Sydney and Melbourne.
