Caught Hugh Grant being put up head-to-head against Paul McMullen (ex NOWT journalist) on R5 this morning.

Never really had much time for Hugh Grant before but have to take my hat off to him for the comprehensive drubbing he dealt out...(1hr 14mins onwards):

Just in case any of you had missed this, what with all the publicity surrounding the NotW ’phone hacking story.

...and here's Hugh Grant's New Statesman article telling the tale of when he "bugged the bugger" Paul McMullen:

To answer my own question earlier about finding a proxy in order to read the Mail (and other tabloids') website(s)

That was brilliant when I read it the first time, just as good on second reading.

NI have claimed Rebekah was on holiday at the time of the Milly Dowler phone hacking.

Oh, that's ok then!  :slap:

#RebekahBrooksExcuses is gathering pace on Twitter (best so far "I was away being interviewed by Johann Hari") and this is genius:

Check this statement from Ofcom too:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/blog/2011/jul/06/news-of-the-world-phone-hacking-live#block-48

Looks like the "fit & proper" thing could be the key to stopping NI from taking control of BSkyB.

It's heating up: Tom Watson calling for James Murdoch to resign and presenting further evidence that Brooks must have known about the hacking (plus allegations of destroying evidence), Campbell called for Rupert Murdoch to answer questions in a Public Inquiry in the 5live interview, advertisers pulling out, NI share price falling, pressure on BSKyB bid...

I must say a big 'well-done' to Alice and Jasper for there continual good work on this thread. It's becoming a better resource for certain stories than the usual news sites. Even if it's not commented on the work is appreciated.

That will be the last time my tongue will be anywhere unseemly.

Thanks also to other contributors.

 Indeed. This just gets more and more sordid as lie is used to cover lie and further truths are revealed.

So, if > 1000 people have had their phone hacked - first its going to take the feds a while to get around to talking to everyone (thats a lot of cups of tea to drink) - second, who here knows someone who had their phone hacked (aside from everyone here being best friends with Sienna Miller of course..)? Going on the X degrees of separation principle its getting to about the right number where someone here will know someone...

It appears that Cameron, Brooks, Coulson and Jeremy Clarkson used to/do regularly gather for dogging dinner... if ever a stray asteroid were to chance upon a place to land....
