I wholly disagree, MM is not a politician, this chap is.

What MM was doing was not 'criminal' and had no Nazi connotations.

Sounds more like a civil servant (housing boss) as opposed to politician.

Fair enough on the obscenity front, but that has nothing to do with his job unless he was doing so from work equipment/time, but then everyone sends personal messages or posts on ~~UKB~~ websites from work, or sending/expressing the views at work which isn't even hinted at in the crappy article.

I'm also wary of anything a Mirror journalist describes as "vile", in fact I'm generally not that interested or trust anything much that the Mirror/Sun/Star/News of the World/etc. publish.

Didn't the whole MM thing include in Nazi uniforms

(paid about as much attention to that as I am likely to this though).

Yes you're right local govt officer rather than elected.

I think the MM uniforms were generic military and one of the whores talked in (faux) German. The accusations of Nazi connections are the subject of a libel claim (or were it may have settled).

Gross misconduct covers matters outside work.
