Clocked this as I follow Information is Beautiful on twitter too.

Started following after I stumbled across The Billion Dollar Gram.

In a more lighthearted vein there is also the Hierarchy of Digital Distractions.

Jasper's anti-R1 rants are highly entertaining too  :)

What have they put in the Nobel committee tea?  Not from the Chicago school of market supremacy apologists, and she's a woman!

The mayhem caused to the global economy by market fundamentalism made it unlikely that a member of the "unfettered markets are best" school would win this year. But it was significant that the judges chose someone whose work is relevant to debates about resource use and the future of the planet.

Some great comments.......

George is the classic 40-year-old virgin - a Notting Hill Rodney (Trotter). You're probably right to think you know a bit more than him - his £3 billion taxation error says he's still working out how to use the calculator function on his Blackberry. In office he'll age 15 years in the first year and still wont have had a real shag.

Brilliant invention  really hope it gets out to places where medication needs to be kept cool as it has the potential to save lots of lives.

It works by harnessing energy from the sun to cool medicines and other small items using evaporation.

If "small items" includes 6 packs, then she truly is a genius.

Brilliant invention

Wonder if this will make it into the Leeds Student newspaper. Last week they had a postgrad who seemed to have spent most of her time developing an equation for PNO, the Perfect Night Out  ???

"Nikki Hollis, a Twitter from Grantham, said: "OMG Im going 2 b taken to the fkn cleaners! Nu shoes or legal advice – wat 2 do?!?"

Meanwhile Twitter's ability to reshape the democratic agenda was further underlined today with 'trending topics' including chocolate milk and paranormal activity, as well as a campaign demanding Lily Allen makes another album full of nursery-rhyme cock."

That seems to be about normal standard for twittering - never has their been a more appropriately named site!
