Jasper - yes I read his book. I was not well. It was an xmas gift, and was stuck at my folks house over Xmas in the process of being remotely dumped by the then GF, could not sleep and it was the only thing to hand to read to try and take my mind off things. Which it did in a 'how can this be so shit' kind of rage. Despite my emotionally derranged state I managed to bail out at page 30. So in a way I had received a knock on the head.
