Bear in mind also that meat from areas where there is a lot of bracken double's the risk of colorectal cancer too by virtue of the carcinogenic properties of the spores that bracken produce, but hey the baseline risk is 1 in 100000 so 2 in 100000 ain't that bad really.

So all in all, its looking like those with a carnivorous streak are up shit creak without a paddle.  I know lets take this to its "logical" conclusion, the government should ban meat, and put everyone on a restricted diet just so they can live longer (after all some research suggests this to be  the case, but then other research suggests otherwise).  Just bump up the subsidy to farmers and everything will be all-right.

Besides which, all this scaremongering about how to "avoid risk factors for cancers" fails to address one of the biggest problems facing western societies today (beyond governments doing whatever the fuck they want abroad, and coppers beating up innocent people) that is a burgeoning ageing population that we can't currently care for properly anyway, let alone when it increases several fold over the coming decades.  Hmm, cancer and dementia on the increase in the elderly you say?  I wonder why that is?  Could it be because they're not dying from communicable diseases, and shock horror, people have to die of something

Oh and the above report is conjecture based on the extrapolation of results based on studies done in adults, not in children.
