A step in the right direction, next is to get euthanasia legal in this country and some decent, well regulated clinics set up. 

It saddens me that we'll happily put an animal down (be it a pet cat or a horse thats fallen in the grand national) who's quality of life has diminished to essentially nothing, and who is suffering and has no hope of recovery, yet the same compassion can't be extended to a fellow of the same species.  Just goes to show how fucked up laws are.
