Absolute lunacy.  The mother should get psychiatric testing she sounds paranoid.

I don't think its a police problem, its the filly f--ker that called them; if you get a call into the control room saying in essence that there's a bloke pointing an imitation firearm at members of the public it will have to be treated seriously.

So when the swat team got there and accosted the man, finding the "'silver ray-gun' which lights up and makes a buzzing noise when the trigger is pulled." they didn't have a word with the woman for wasting police time and apologise to the bloke, but instead "Police seized the man's toy ray-gun and arrested him on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm in a public place."

Hmmm  :-\

Because the twats at the home office have introduced a policy of positve interventions in circumstances such as this.

The officers however may have just over reacted or been muppets.

Surely it means they were muppets as the "positive intervention" would have been to tell the woman to stop wasting their time.

This is fucking loopy!

I saw something on the news the other day about this.  That idiot who lost his shoe was rather lucky.

Twats who choose to ignore the barriers deserve to get hit, if only it were just them who was at risk.  Unfortunately they endanger all the unwitting passangers, complete and utter  :wank:

I was in Reus (Spain) in the Summer and a railway rack goes right through the town. It was a busy street and 95% of pedestrians kept crossing the tracks everytime the barriers went down. Nutters.

A load of fuss over nothing

Kids go to school to learn and be educated, there are Religious Education classes to address their education in all faiths.  If parents want their kids to pray every day then they can do that in the privacy of their own home (or local place of worship), if I ever have children I will make sure they are not indoctrinated to whatever religion is preached in morning assembly.  What a waste of time, and no doubt a loss to the school as another teacher decides to quite over something which really shouldn't be an issue.

especially ridiculous bearing in mind that no other sheffield schools have seperate assemblies for muslims/otherwise. fuck knows why there is a "legal requirements for schools to hold a "daily act of worship"" - is it still the fucking 15th century or something? and for all that someone has to lose their job, its a disgrace

Too right, an absolute disgrace that has no place in schools. From the article it looks as if the legislation for such bullshit is over 60 years old.

Particularly hypocritical given that since the blue-bloods stopped ruling the country in the UK we are supposed to have a secular governance  :-\
