UK Women Who've Recently Climbed >= 8a

To clarify, in case anyone (mis)reads the above how I did because of the quote (i.e I thought rodders was saying she'd flashed the other 8b and 8b+), rodders doesn't mean she flashed those. https://www.8a.nu/user/lucy-mitchell/sportclimbing
Still, looks like a very good autumn :strongbench:

Sorry for the confusion, should have worded that better, the 8a and 8b+ were done in a day I believe.

So was the 8b OS or flash? facebook link that shark posted a while back says flash but it's down as OS on 8a.poo

How's Remus supposed to keep accurate lists with this sort of sloppiness??

Hazel has “finished off” Esclatamasters. No green tick ;-) Sounds like she still treats sport climbing as training for trad.

So that's first E9, first E10, first 8c, first (only) 8c+(/E10), and second 9a by British woman. Plus the el cap stuff, multiple E7s first go, 8a+ onsight...

Mental.

Prudence Morgan-Wood seems more than qualified for this list! Her UKC log provides the deets I guess https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/showlog.php?id=358350
Also Alice Thompson did Powerplant recently and more impressively (I think) did a swung leads on-sight of Tout pour Le Club at Taghia although, again, the only details of this I know are through logbook stalking!

Good updates, I've updated ch https://climbing-history.org/list/2/strong-british-female-sport-climbers

Just seen that Flo Tilley isn’t on your list, yet has climbed 2 8a+; Bullet and la Montana magica in chulilla. C’mon Remus! :p

Such aspersions! :-* She's on the list for Montana Magica, but I had it in at 8b as I didn't realise it seems to have settled at 8a+.

Aha! Sorry, thought I’d seen her there before but wondered what had happened. Think Montana is thought of as 8a+ now, could be wrong though as it looked tricky!

Seems like most people on 8a.nu suggest 8a+ so probably due a downgrade on ch.

Jemima Churchhouse did Aberration last year in about three sessions, which is not bad for someone who's previous best redpoint was 7a+.

Mega, that's quite the jump! I've added her to the list.

Molly Hymes has done The Thumb at Kilnsey :strongbench:

Ace! She was looking strong on Sunday, glad to hear she got it done. First 8a I think?

Just realised neither Kim nor Anna Mountney are on there. Kim did Le Lapin in 2020 and Anna did Complete Control in 21. They’ve both since done others.

Roxy Elgar is on exceptional form at the moment, on sighting 7b+ and climbing both Ching 8a at Dunkeld and Ze Pequerto 8a at Bovilla in Albania.
