What do people use for travel insurance these days? I need it to cover personal laptop, work laptop, personal and work phones, camera and lenses, and be insured for bouldering in Europe. It's not a work trip, it'll be me working remote on rest days whilst abroad. Things like SportsCover Direct etc. don't seem to cover gadgets, and when I add gadgets insurance on to normal travel insurance it only covers up to £1000, which is no good if my van gets broken into and all my shit gets robbed... any advice/tips greatly appreciated, cheers ears

Your property might be insured outside of the home under your home insurance policy? Or else you could opt into that?

I’d be surprised if you could get theft cover of electronics from a vehicle as part of a travel insurance policy. Locked accommodation, but not a van. I know a Snowcard policy, for example, would not cover theft from your van if it was unattended.

As Will suggests I’d look into away from home cover as part of your home insurance.

As a different approach, have you considered an underseat safe or similar? I'm not sure which van you have but you could get them as a swivel base for Transporters back in 2008.

CAPEX vs OPEX init? i.e. your insurance, presuming you can find one that meets your needs isn't going to be free.
