[nsfw]I have never screamed at the tv quite as much as that, unbelievable stuff! He totally dominated that sprint too, no one got close when he went.[/nsfw]
:agree:
[nsfw]Had the neighbours out thinking I was murdering someone! ;D Fucking love Cav!![/nsfw]

[nsfw]FUCKING YES!!! Incredible result and so happy for him - and even better, what a brilliant sprint that was. Vintage Cav. Just hopped from wheel to wheel and dominated it. YYFY! [/nsfw]

[nsfw]fantastic, pretty much sprint perfection! looked so good he will probably fancy himself to get more! [/nsfw]

Thanks for the use of the NSFW tags, if only Eurosport had the same courtesy. They named their final kms video as per the result meaning I logged on to watch the ending and instantly saw the result :wall:

Impressive stuff from Cav. Phillipsen couldn't do anything.

Same! :chair:

Rapha are at it now. Putting Tour Spoiler....... doesn't prevent people seeing the rest of the subject on anything other than a push notification. :shit:

Dave Toon ruined it for me on Facebook :chair:

Amazing to see it. After last year's disappointment and the struggle of the first couple of days I'd written him off.

Had this old article brought to my attention - Cav in 2013.

https://web.archive.org/web/20201112043251/https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/cycling/mark-cavendish/10426338/Mark-Cavendish-My-position-as-cyclings-greatest-sprinter-is-under-threat-now-I-have-a-point-to-prove.html

It's a nice portrait of his personality and eidetic memory for routes, against what was seemingly the general view that he was a thug. Best line,

“If I do a circuit,” he assures me, “then after three laps I could tell you where all the potholes were.”

[/nsfw]

His sense of what’s happening and where he is within a chaotic bunch sprint was shown today. As he starts to go left which is actually the shortest line, he just looks up and left and goes.
Plus he was on Jaspers P’s wheel then launch’s then Jasper can’t get on his wheel is something.

As someone with a lot of Eritrean friends and connections, I was absolutely made up with Biniam Girmay's 3rd stage win.

Definitely, he deserved at least one last year but Jasper got away with boxing him out.

At least this time he didn't shoot himself in the eye with the champagne cork either!

I did wonder if someone would query that but I didn't expect it to be you :pissed:

Haha, good to see Jasper relegated for more d*ckhead behaviour, this time pinning Wout to the barrier.

TT tomorrow. Remco is looking strong?

Pretty much pan flat with like 5 corners total, would suit a massive watt monster like Ganna if he was there, can’t see Remco taking the require 0.45 off Pog in 25km, but hopefully a wedge to make it interesting when they head back into the mountains?

What's UKB's opinion on TDF gravel after yesterday's stage? I'll keep mine in NSFW tags as I'm assuming some people might be taking today's rest day as an opportunity to catch up.

I can see where the GC riders are coming from in that their Tour could be over very easily with a mechanical and it's not like Strade Bianche where you enter/compete knowing that's a risk. However, I thought the racing yesterday was great (specifically Pogi and Remco). Is it just me that thinks Jonas looks a bit ragged this Tour?
[/nsfw]

I've not had a fantastic opinion of Remco since getting into cycling as he's always seemed a bit petulant (and never quite the GC material he's made out to be) but that seems to have changed. I've not had chance to watch it yet but I was recommended this:

I mean he did puncture a lung in April and was in hospital for a couple of weeks, and didn’t get any racing in the interim, so think he’s doing pretty well!

I can see what Jonas is saying about the lottery side of it, meaning the tour could be over from a puncture, but unfortunately for him that was one of the best stages I’ve ever seen, so can imagine they’ll have it back again! I don’t think it’s any different to pave which they’ve used a few times now too. [/nsfw]
