Right then Gus. The last Decomposed podcast was 18 months ago. They're great. When's the next one?

Good point well presented.

Apologies I’ve been busy as sin and had a few technical issues which made it a bit too
Time consuming .

I promise I’ll do a “season 2” asap as would love to get at least over 100 episodes ! Got some artists I’d still like to have on, plus a few good ideas (one being “the ultimate psyche” mix for climbing with a compilation of all the best dance tracks from climbing films, hopefully it doesn’t take me 20 years to gather them like the hard grit mix!)
Glad to know it’s still appreciated though, watch this space !!
(Even had a message from mark turnbull one of the original producers of hard grit saying that he loved the mix, which was Waddage!!)

I'd be well up for this. Keep up the good work, it's appreciated.

Cheers Gus, everybody likes a ticklist. You could be a Techno Centurion. ;D
More from yourself and some of your regulars wouldn’t go amiss. Something relentless to keep the psyche going like Cell303’s set would be excellent. Maybe Galup would help you out? More sets from the likes of Middleman and Gaenz would be cool too.

And enjoyed the tripped track Fiend, keep em coming
 Yay, glad someone liked it. Maybe takes a bit of getting used to especially the start, but I bloody love it. I don't have much to share at the mo in the techno realm tho....

I'm terrible at finding new music, completely out of the loop but I rather enjoyed this:

(bonus internet geek kudos points if you recognise the vocal sample at the very start!)

It drops right at the end of this Boiler room set:

If anyone has any similar recommends I'd love to hear them!

not that similar, and only fairly new, but really like what Bicep have been doing

Bicep are definitely on my radar but thanks for the recommend!

If you like them you might also like Boris Brejcha:

Plenty of his live sets on YouTube etc that are worth checking out if you like his sound

I didn't find a link in Horsen8ors's post so here we go: https://www.mixcloud.com/GusN8r/decomposed-radio-podcast-083-gusn8r-from-club-signal-sheffield/

In December, Autechre did a five hour mix of various mega tunes that were in the air around the time of the two Warp Artificial Intelligence LP’s. It’s brilliant.

As a footnote to climbing history, all this stuff powered the soundtrack for One Summer after Rob (Warp) gave Ben P and Ben M a bunch of CDs and the rights to the music.

Up until this point, the only modern climbing films of note were the Master of Stone series in which music wasn’t really a consideration. That Summer, the One Summer, both Bens, Al Williams, GME and me would sit for hours in Ben’s living room listening to these tunes over the raw video footage to see what might work. Good times!

Interesting take! I think it absolutely was a consideration, they just had fucking awful taste. A lot of the surf and skate videos were/ are similarly affected. Becoming a teenager at the height of Madchester probably wasn't the best environment to develop an appreciation for shit american thrash admittedly.

And yet some of us managed

Nice!

Will check that out for sure and look at putting some of those warp tracks into the ultimate psyche mix from climbing films.

Is there any particular ones that stand out do you think??
