New Boostic R

I haven't tried the Boostic R, but worth mentioning that I noticed huge variance between older-made versions of the blue Boostics versus more recently made ones, so it might be difficult to give blanket sizing advice. I've gone from a 40 when they first released to a 42 in my most recent pair.

I had similar with the Boosters (same last shape), so maybe they tweaked the manufacturing somehow? Very disappointing that these seem to now be discontinued in the UK.

Interesting, I got just one pair in my size of the blues - too floppy- so downsized to a single-pitch-only-size, which is mostly useless for trad and even then, not that supportive. Didn't realise they had been inconsistent with their sizing. not impressive.

Rob at ukc is reviewing these and I'm sure he will be very thorough, but the review won't be published till March. They aren't in any nearby shops so I'm tempted to get a pair online, but knowing which size to order without having to get a few pairs and send some back would be helpful.

I also emailed Scarpa uk, but they haven't replied.

If you haven't tried them already then Mountain Boot company (who distribute scarpa in the UK) could be worth a call. I've always found them helpful when I've dealt with them previously.

Thanks Remus, they didn't reply by email but a phone call is probably worth a go.

I bought 4 pairs from Spain, as apparently they are only making 5000 and only sending 600 here to the US (next year). I think they are the same size as the old blues. However, some say they are marginally bigger and marginally softer. They size up half a size from the new crappy blues.

Just spoke to Dave at the Mountain Boot Company who was very helpful. I'll buy some and report back in due course.
