Not really uk bouldering, but anyway...
From Nov 1st the site of La Capelle in the departement of the Gard, France (just north of Nimes) is closed - climbing is strictly forbidden.
La Capelle is an odd little hill covered in woodland and sandstone boulders. It's one of the few half-decent bouldering venues in the Gard/Herault region.
This isn't the first time the site has been closed, but may well be the last. The owner (who is actually quite a decent and reasonable guy) has got fed up of a minority of climbers leaving litter and poo around, chipping holds and smoking/having fires. This last bit is cited as the main reason for the closure. The crag is directly behind the village and if the woodland goes up in flames it's serious for everyone who lives there.
The online topo has been removed, and a few details put up here.
