Yeah I was being lazy copy and pasting from SM90 !

Cheers Haydn. Weather is weirdly good but concerned about lack of breeze and I'd rather go to the depot at peak times with multiple kids' parties in than Almscliff....

Anyone live Barden Moor way? Going to be running rather than climbing, but looking to find out how snowy/frosty, solid underfoot, etc, you reckon the top of the moors will be.

Anywhere around there would be handy, in that Skipton - Grassington - Pateley Bridge - Otley kinda area.

Cheers

Are you out tomorrow?

Small amount of snow left on the tops, but we didn’t have much to start with so no drifts etc. was -7 this morning and made it up to about 3 max in the valley and another hard frost tonight, so hopefully any muddy bits should be pretty solid! Looks like we are due a bit more snow tonight, but not sure how much we will end up with. Wind chill was substantial today and looks similar tomorrow.

Yeah forgot to say, tomorrow not weekend - that looks grim! Whereas tomorrow could be stunning.

Cheers, sounds like good conditions. Will pack layers!

Ended up having a go at Ilkley Skyline, which was superb. It's a nice route, but especially good on a day like today.
Ilkley Moor was frozen solid, lots of ice and a good covering of snow in most places - parts of Windgate Nick quarry looked to be in full on winter condition! Beamsley side was a bit more sparse for snow, but fairly solid still. And the lack of recent rain meant the river was low enough to cross the steps at Burley.
Shame it's all about to disappear for a while...

Nice glad it worked out, was afraid I’d given you bad beta when the thaw at valley level was pretty quick!

No worries, you were pretty accurate! The only difference was wind chill - barely a breath today, fortunately. It's true the valley and south facing aspects were fairly thawed, but the high level stuff managed to hold firm, which was handy too.

Anything dry at the moment? Earl way has been shrouded in perma-mizzle for the last few days, wondering how the rest of Yorkshire is holding up?

Almscliff was mint on Wednesday. Brimham I was sunbathing in glorious sunshine boxing day. Was quite foggy today, gonna try getting out tmrw. Suspect almscliff will be good

Anyone been out in Yorkshire or heading out tomorrow, able to report on how things are looking? Hoping to get out Saturday morning so any reports appreciated.

Everything frozen solid in SW Leeds still so expecting that but more!

Not sure how useful it is, but police had shut the road where you park for Caley roadside when I drove past around an hour and a bit ago. Park up at the top if needed.

Can anyone recommend somewhere tomorrow? I’m aiming to get somewhere about 10am.

I was hoping to go to Caley for a look at Slapstick Arete, but maybe somewhere else would be a more reliable option…

Brimham was good on Thursday, imagine it will be fine tomorrow as well. I was around the Happy Days and Black Chipper areas - everything dry. Nought Bank boulders were ok as well - Trust was dry.
