    Who's had the 'Rona?

I haven't had it personally, but I am currently living in the middle east. The university I am working and living at has been very thorough in terms of testing people, contact tracing, quarantine. The remarkable thing is, out of the 14 people that have been tested positive, about 10 of them...

    EU Referendum

I agree with Stu. When we model the weather we try to take into account everything we know that contributes to changes in weather patterns. We understand the things that contribute to the weather very well, sufficnetly well that we can make a pretty decent prediction of what the weather will be...

    Itchy trigger finger

Itchy trigger finger - i.e. I injured my finger (6 - 8 weeks ago) and now it feels weird. So I sustained a minor injury to my A4 tendon of my index finger almost 2 months ago. There was no immediate pain, it just came on gradually on my 3rd day of climbing. I stopped when I felt it, so it...

    Van buying question

Hello van people. I need your help. I now live in the Netherlands, and all of a sudden van life has become appealing. This is mostly due to the nearest crag being 3 hours drive away. However, as this is something of a whim I am not financially prepared to just buy a van. I have seen this...

    Protruding and asymmetric scapular

Hello, My girlfriend is relatively new to climbing, having been doing it for approximately 1.5 years. She has been pretty committed and become fairly strong quite quickly. She has had some minor shoulder and elbow problems from climbing in the past. Recently she has complained of her back...

    World class UK problems

I always though Impailed at Dove Crag looks pretty spectacular. The setting is the best of any boulder problem I have ever season. It is quite high, fairly hard (7B+) and is a very strong line, the climbing looks pretty sweet to. I suspect no more than 5 people have ever done it though due to...

Snowballing footage for some TV folk

Here is some more information: RAW TV WANTS YOUR PERSONAL WEATHER EXPERIENCES… Raw TV are working on a Channel 4 documentary about extreme weather in Britain over the course of this winter. We’re really keen to see how the climbing community in Sheffield is affected by snow and bad weather...

Snowballing footage for some TV folk

A friend of mine got in touch the other day as she is working on a TV programme about how extreme weather affects people in different ways. I told her about snowballing, and how people do all these normally more dangerous, fairly high things and she seemed pretty interested. So does anybody...

    Zillertal

It's not that the zillertal isn't necessarily good, but we were doing it on the cheap which was problematic and it pissed it down with rain when we were there. If i was in an apartment it would have made life a lot easier!

    Zillertal

I had a pretty shitty time in the Zillertal with regards to bouldering. Too much rain, problems too spread out or just plain shit. The problem on the guidebook cover that looked amazing turned out to be incredibly painful and not much fun at all. Tbh, I wouldn't go again. Maybe it's just me...

    Squamish

On the biking thing I can strongly recommend "Half-nelson" It's very good fun and not too bad. I did it on a hard tail after going to a rave in the woods the night before and having not slept. It seemed like a good idea at the time, and it did turn out to be a amazing one...

    Screwed over by Wrongfax

Potentially they are shooting themselves in the foot, as climbing shops have an option about which guide they would prefer to stock. If I owned a shop after seeing this, I know which one I would go for.

    Recomend me a lakes crag

I guess Langdale boulders wouldn't be a major detour. About 15 mins from Ambleside, and the boulders are a 30 second walk in. The best problems would be in the shade in an evening as well. The overhang ss is an excellent 7B, although very slightly eliminate. Pocket problem (6C), the overhang...

    Bowder Stone parking

If you keep driving past the car park for about 700m there are some small bays on the left hand side of the road that are free to park in.
