Thread that ends up most off topic...
September 23, 2007, 10:16:10 pm
This is my offering.

http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php/topic,7924.0.html

Pity the poor bugger that wants to have a sensible discussion about Ty.

Welcome to UKB!
That one is fairly mild.

There's been plenty of sensible talk about Landman previously, however, so it isn't like we have an anti-Tyler policy!
Check out Cofe's Hoover thread for more amusement.....

I've got a slight suspicion that this might make its way to the shit heap

Not if we go so off topic it makes it a bouldering thread.

Where's bentley's biceps when you need a discussion about hank's wall?

Causing trouble on UKC no doubt.

I hear Ty Landman sent some hard problems....

Yeah, I lost quite a few pounds, but never went hungry, and felt great. Apart from Saturday, I still have a strong urge to only eat really healthy food, and don't feel much like drinking. I still haven't had a cup of coffee - just completely not bothered!

Is there any good evidence that coffee is bad for you? I live off the stuff.

Btw, Halo 3 has been released, so let's "Finish the Fight"....

To the contrary - there's various evidence to suggest that it's rich in antioxidants. Obviously it's not as straightforward as "guzzle a ton of coffee a day and say goodbye to cancer", but at least its getting some favourable press in health and scientific circles.

Probably a lot of coverage in journals and whatnot but here's a National Geo article on it.

Talking of magazines, there's some really good articles on the infantalization of politics in this months New Internationalist.  Also good stuff on conspiracy theories and how they're often just an easy way out of facing truths or difficult ideas that are put forward.  Or is that just a conspiracy theory?

Coffee's also supposed to help the body recover quicker after exercise. Probably due to the way it raises blood pressure. Seem to remember reading in the papers (so it must be true!) although I could be making it up.

Any one had their wisdom teeth out? What's the score with that? Does it take a few days to get over it? I'm due to have one of mine done soon.

Hurts like hell for a few days.  It's hard to eat anything but soup.

Speaking of which, is Campbell's tomato soup better that Heinz?  I am unsure.

Contrary to GCWs experience mine was pretty much pain free.  I was under heavy sedation and rather than wrench the whole tooth out I think they cut it into pieces before removing.  I had a few stitches in the gum but no real bruising or swelling.  I had ibuprofen and soup for a day or two but was then back on solids and no painkillers.

#homer voice# Mmmmmm sooouup and heavy sedation. Awrrrlll.

I've always been a Baxter's soup man myself. They do some good poncey ones involving butternut squash and the like these days.

Gourmet ...  but in a tin.

The "Font in the rain" thread did at least manage to adequately answer the original query before veering wildly  :off: though.

Has anyone got the new Foo Fighters album yet and is it any good?
