I am off to squamish soon and was wondering whether anyone has been there and has any recommendations.

Yep - just buy the guide.
It's starting to get warm now - summer has started, so in the mid/high 20's today - bring rope/gear as the trad is genius and a much better option when it's too hot to boulder - saying that, you can always find cooler areas below the north walls, so it's not as though you'll be short of options.
