Anyone using Limewire?
June 18, 2006, 07:19:11 pm
Right, can anyone help me?

I've made a particularly stupid mistake - this morning, while "cleaning up" Limewire I managed to delete pretty much everything I've ever downloaded. Turns out what I thought was just a deleting a list of stuff I've downloaded was actually Limewire's access to the relevant section of my hard drive, and every click of "delete" was killing another mp3 file.

To add insult to injury, it would appear that as a result of deleting this way, the files have not ended up in the recycling bin and have gone for good.

This afternoon I've been feeling mostly   :o  :furious: and  :wall:

Get hold of one of those utilities that can recover lost files - I reckon all your files will still be there somewhere...

Yeah, got hold of something called "Recover my files" off download.com but no joy - anyone got any recommendations - know I read here about someone deleting a load of photos and getting em back...

It was scanning the drives and ting, but only seemed to be able to look in the drives on the PC - it found all the existing stuff that's left, but there wasn't an option to look in "the nebulous place where deleted files go"...will give it another crack tonight and report back.

none of that made any sense i'm afraid.
Hint: create your own save folder preferably on another drive, don't use limewire's default save folder  ;)
