It's funny, when I was your age I genuinely thought Anglezarke quarry was the best crag in the country. Keep the faith in the Quarries - they may be grotty overgrown shitholes with dangerous collapsing finishes, but just think of the history...or something.

Lol... so did I. BTW  the Quarries are grotty luminous green overgrown shitholes with dangerous collapsing finishes, but all the more loveable for it

Hadn't read that before, that's pretty dumb - especially the young Moon-esque naming, which is maybe making a statement (although a bad one) when you put up cutting edge routes in France, but not when you think you've put up Font 6's at a small crag in Scotland.

I mentioned that thread back on pg 1 of this thread, but thought it would be unkind to link to it. Seeing you have though....

Good point Chris.

Were those problems marked up in a guide as a project?

yes:
http://scottishclimbs.com/guidepage.php?guideid=9&page=1
#9 project -jo's traverse
the other one wasn't but was an obvious line

i didn't mean to cause offence, it was just in a joking way which didn't seem to come out right in the post. I siad the grades were soft (true, how else could i get the FA of a font6b+ traverse third go) compared to lancashire and indeed yorkshire. i apologise to anybody who is scottish or lives on scotland and i will never stray north of the border again, unless it iss to be sandbagged.

Andi, it's often a good idea to check the date of an online publication (hint: it says 2002 at the bottom of that page).

Stuart put that guide together about a month after he and Jo developed the place, and they never bothered updating it, since the North East Outcrops Guide (which fully covers the area) came out shortly afterwards. They both admitted the grades were out on quite a few problems, as there was no concensus, and rarely is up here, given the number of dedicated boulderers. Like I said at the time, if you had bothered consulting with a local beforehand or after, you would have been able to prevent all this happening. And if "Scotland is easy" how can you ever be sandbagged?

Coming across in a "joking way" and "arrogant and stupid way" can easily be confused on a forum, especially given your track record.

Why understand it from me? The problems aren't mine, I don't particularly like Luath's Stones, and I'm not Scottish. That post was enough to piss anyone in the world off.

PS not all mako sharks are big, only the large ones. The small ones are smaller, as they aren't born fully grown. Ask an adult to explain it to you if you don't understand.

i'm just wondering why i get so much abuse on these forums? is it because sometimes i post things which are a little "cryptic"? is it because i like climbing in quarries (most of the time) because it doesn't matter about the settng for me? or is it because you are all grumpy people?
(i'm not talking about the most people, just a few, you know who you are, naming no names dense, webbo or sa chris)

Andi,

Having met you with for the first time at cliffs the other night I was left wondering if I had met the same Andi.

The one that was portrayed in the forums me seemed like he had something to say on everything no matter how irrelevant or pointless it was. Typing diarrhea!

In reality though I found you to be very affable, slightly shy and overall a nice bloke.

Now I am not saying this as a put down, but like I said to you at the barn maybe read more and post a little less if you don't like the hassle you get.

All in all mate don't take it to heart because when most people meet you at the crag I am sure they will form the same opinion that I have. You're alright.   :D

Go easy tiger
